Thai Life Guesthouse is so much more than a guest house! I stayed here with a cycling group and wish that we had stayed longer!!! Service was absolutely wonderful. Thai Life staff truly went out of their way to accommodate our group with bungalows and massages...I have to say my bungalow was superb!!!! Huge outside deck: living room area, butlers pantry/bar area ( microwave): nice bath room with separate, huge outdoor shower!!!!! The bungalow (#1) is on stilts so underneath was "parking" for my bike ( and another outdoor patio). My bungalow looked over a huge pond and was steps away from the restaurant ( yet far enough away, so as not to be bothered by it). Strong, fast and free wifi connections in bungalows. The beach was a short cycle down the private road ( a couple of minutes). We had our own bikes; the hotel has bikes if you don't. You can walk as well. The beach was one of the best of the whole trip ( and we cycled from Bangkok to Khao Lak, so we saw plenty). It was peaceful and absolutely stunning. It was pretty much a private beach: very easy to find solitude. The water: perfect! Beach side Thai massage for 200 bahts( that's a little over 6 USD). I have to admit my massage was below average for Thailand ( could be I was the last of the day), but my traveling friends said theirs were good. You can get drinks and/or food at the beach. The resort has cabanas, bathrooms, lounge chairs and towels as well....everything you could need. I should mention it is about 1km or so down the beach from the Tsunami memorial...The buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant was very good with many options. I will definitely go back to this peaceful Oasis just outside of the chaos of Khao Lak center. It is a wonderful quiet resort with superb accommodations, a great staff and peaceful and...

Read moreStayed at the Thai Life for 12 nights. We arrived late due to the flight times into Phuket and the owner was there waiting for us. We were allocated room 1, which was a lovely room, spacious with a small seating area and a balcony. The bed was huge, the only downside being there were only 2 pillows. The room was spotless and was cleaned every day. The staff were fabulous and friendly and spoke very good English, especially Sow who couldn't do enough to help you. Ideally located the beach being 10 minutes stroll away and the market being literally on your doorstep. We spoke to the owner regarding the bad reviews and he informed us that it was a previous owner and he had heard many bad reports about him. We ate breakfast in the restaurant most mornings and it was superb, with plenty of choice and quick service and...
