Med Sai Kitchen (Cha-am Beach) — Restaurant in Phetchaburi Province

We visited this restaurant for dinner. I think the atmosphere during lunch might be better in terms of u can actually see the sea and walk around the beach, but it would be hot or sweaty. There are alot of tables but not enough fan to circulate the air. I was going to give it a 4 star but this happened: I think someone might have ordered a spicy dish and the smoke from the chillo or whatever herbs that they are using filled the area (which air doesnt circulate well cus there was no wind tonight). Everybody started cougjing, sneezing, and wheezing from that chilli-filled smoke. :/ The staff didnt do anything about that- no staff was handling the situation or trying to position the fan to push away the smoke. That ruined the atmosphere. Oh and there's mosquitoes but the staff offered a mosquito repellant so that was tolerateable. Anyway, food was fresh but delicious only for certain menu. Fried rice with crab, and fried shell with butter were really good, but the fermented crab egg menu (ปูไข่ดอง) wasnt worth the price nor did it tasted good. There was a fizzing soda-like taste in the crab meet and the proportion doesnt equate...

My daughter and I visited Krua Med Sai in Cha-Am on a recent Friday.

All in all, we feel the experience was rather average. We ordered a "fried sea bass in three flavors sauce", small orders of shrimp fried rice and crab fried rice and an order of "Yam Tua Plu" (winged bean salad).

The sea bass and the shrimp fried rice didn't taste very fresh. The crab fried rice was OK and the winged bean salad was good.

As we were paying our bill, I learned that our waitress is from Cambodia. She warmed up and was more friendly as she became more comfortable communicating with us. Perhaps customers with poor customer service experiences had some guest workers who weren't that capable.

In any event, I felt that our overall experience eating at Krua Med Sai was just average. I got the feeling that the restaurant is a place for Bangkok tourists to the Cha-Am area. After dark, you cannot see the ocean, so the atmosphere isn't...

The food was decent and at a slightly reasonable price, the restaurant is situated right next to the beach which is also a plus.

The service quality on the other hand was horrible, I kept being ignored when ordering the food and hospitality from the personnels is almost non-existent, not to mention the way they keep staring at me while I was eating...

Overall, I had a mediocre experience eating at that restaurant and unless one is really hungry and can't find any other place to eat, I wouldn't recommend this one. The staffs needs to improve their...
