If you were brought here by a tuk tuk then congratulations: you have been scammed! This restaurant was fine but the prices were too high (aimed at foreigners i assume) this restaurant works with the tuktuk drivers that bring their costumers here. I did not want to go on the tour w the tuktuk driver but he was VERY persistent and even lied to me (and my boyfriend) about how far everything is from the bus station etc. When he brought us to that restaurant i knew sth was wrong (i am half thai and lived in thailand for a long time so i can recognise scammers) and wanted to cancel. My boyfriend then tried to tell the tuktuk driver that we want to cancel the tour and we wanted to give him some money for the drive to the restaurant (the restaurant was a five minutes drive) he asked for 200baht which was a joke but we still agreed. Then he talked to the owner of the restaurant and said he had to 'check with the boss' and the owner of the restaurant said we had to pay 600baht for cancellation because the tuktuk driver wont be able to work for the rest of the day which is just ridiculous (i was not present when this was going on so when my boyfriend told me he paid the tuktuk driver 600baht after arguing for a long time i was furious) I tried to talk to the owner but she just refuse that she has anything to do with this. ‼️RUN AWAY...
Read moreSmall restaurant, was brought here by my tuktuk driver. It's really close to Wat Mahathat. Despite its small size, they have aircon (something you'd appreciate after spending the whole day travelling outdoor). I had their Goong Ob Woonsen (glass noodle with shrimp, thai style), and it's sooooo tasty. Sweet, sour, and a bit spicy, with sizeable shrimps and calamari. Had a Thaptim Krub as a desert as well, a bowl of water chestnuts in sweet coconut milk. However, the desert was warm. Would love it more if it comes with ice shavings or ice cubes. Pricewise, all comes with reasonable price. Maybe a bit high in Ayutthaya standard, but cheaper than Bangkok for sure. But overall, this is a really good place to get some proper lunch before continuing to...
Read moreDespite many comments pointing out there is a mandatory tip of 200, in my experience that never happend. The food, in comparison to other places I have been to in Bangkok, was both delicious and served in generous amount.
The menu has an image for every dish, which makes it easier to understand what you are ordering if you have problems with either Thai or English language.
It had AC and a good atmosphere, which is enough for what I was looking for.
Meanwhile for the prices, I am concerned about the many reviews saying it is overpriced, so I will let you decide with the pictures I took of the...
