Raan Tha Luang — Restaurant in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya City Municipality

We were brought here by our tourist guide. The food we ordered (pineapple fried rice and a cabbage soup) have been brought in 5 minutes after we had placed the order. Needless to say, the rice was not freshly cooked. It was coldish warm, the deep fried chicken was cold and hard to chew. The soup was not tasty either, I spit the meat ball the moment I tasted it. The spring rolls were eatable, but really nothing special. We complained about the pineapple rice. The staff was nice and kind to take it back and replace, 5 min later, just slightly warmer this time, while the chicken now was fried right before serving, but it was hard to chew. Besides, it was not easy to communicate with the staff in English, we had to use body language to explain what medium hot would be. We just had lunch in this unpleasant place. Brought by our guide, we sat in a nice corner in front of the river. Than the waitress came: Thailand in known as the land of smiling people? Forget it here. No smile, no kindness. We also had the worst food since we landed: the spicy basil stir fried seafood was poorly presented, poor in quantity (thanks god) and bad in taste. The shrimp soup even worst: dirty water with few shrimps and… insects inside! When we spoke to the waitress we’ve been told that it was the condiment, but trust me condiment has no paws or antennas.

Brought here on a tour for Ayyuthaya. Seemingly no vegetarian options on menu (even vegs used oyster sauce) and server didn't understand any English, our broken Thai which was fine elsewhere, or try to help. Their app system seems difficult to use for them as well. Ordered a pork salad which came in strips with some partly raw, maybe the local style but this was not made clear, Reordered & came relatively quickly. The pad thai was bland and had sticky noodles, plus none of the standard chilli condiments were offered. I wouldn't come back (but wonder how much of their business has a choice)....
