Thanam View Restaurant Ayutthaya — Restaurant in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya City Municipality

This was sadly or worst dining experience in 3 weeks of Thailand. My girlfriend had the papaya soup with fish and there was nothing else in it than papaya and fish and it was really spicy even though she asked for it to be little spicy. I had some beef dish which had bell pepper and onion in it on the picture of the menu but when I got it, there were only mushrooms and onions. I don't like mushrooms so I sperated them out. Thinking that even if the waiter doesn't understand what I am saying she notices that I didn't want them in my food and ould like the bell pepper. So the waiter didn't speak any English as she would have understood "No mushrooms, instead bell pepper please" pointing at the bell pepper on the picture of the menu. Back came a plate where they added Bell pepper but half of the dish consisted of mushrooms now so even more than before... And there wasn't any sauce left so it was a pretty dry meal. Besides that they even charged for ice cubes as much as they charged you for water. Which we haven't had before in Thailand either. So besides the view of the river and temple it was a pretty bad experience. And we can't...

Tried 4 menus They are all amazing

. Spaghetti roasted chilli with bacon, tasty but not so spicy. If you like crispy bacon, need to let the chef know as it came in soft version

. Pad Thai ... great ... tasty sauce, fresh shrimp ... must try

. Rice noodle fries with Cha Om and shrimp ... another must try ... Cha Om just about right, not too strong

. Fries rice with fermented pork ... good test and smell ... not a dry version but tasty both pork and rice

They got table with great view of riverside here ... try once... you will love it

Good food. Decent service (we came on New Year’s Day and they were very busy). Amazing view.

The grilled river prawns were large with a good amount of orange fat. We are from Rangsit and everyone agreed the boat noodles were very good. Roti was also really good. The white rice seemed to be of lower quality and was very clumpy (not sticky rice).

They had lots of fan and shades pulled so we weren’t burning up even though we came at 12:00 noon.

Overall good experience and we will add this of places to eat...
