Timber Hut Cafe - Prachuap Beach — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Very nice place. The landlord and his wife/boss ;) are very congenial and good fun. The beer selection is very good for the location and very reasonably priced. Edit: Exceptionally good value for the location!The staff are very friendly and very professional. My wife's family lives in Prachuap, so this is now one of our sanctuaries when we visit the in-laws. My wife has a 'normal' diet, for her the food was excellent. As a vegan, my choices were very limited, and the English breakfast was very restricted. But that's my problem, not the pub's. There was a veggie burger on the menu, but the wonderful staff and landlady made sure I understood it wasn't suitable for someone 'jae'. I really appreciate that level of service excellence. Many places would have just kept quiet. I did miss the regular portions of chips, toast, and beans that most farang bars serve with an English breakfast, though. But perhaps the costs are prohibitive off the main tourist path? I'm used to the Thai style of serving separate little pots of tomatoes and beans and separate plates for toast, onions, and chips of varying temperatures, but it did surprise me a little in this setting. My wife and I spend 6 months a year in the town of Prachuap Khiri Khan and we were looking for a nice restaurant to frequent on the nights that we felt the urge to go out for dinner or meet friends and relax. When we found Timber Hut Cafe, we knew this was a place we would come back to time and time again. The owner/operator, Noo and Nikki are very warm and friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. Their warmth spills over to the regular customers who are eager to meet you and get to know you. On the 1st of each night, Keith (from Australia) hosts a great Quiz Night and everyone has a great time. On top of all this, Timber Hut Cafe offers a great menu ranging from Fish & Chips, Pizza, Steak, Curry, Pasta, Salad, Burgers and a nice assortment of specials. Timber Hut Cafe also offers a range of beverages including Cocktails, Beer, Spirits, Wines, Tea, Coffee & Fruit Smoothies. The food is great, and the atmosphere is superb. Laid back, friendly and always some easy listening videos playing along with current football matches. We stopped of at Timber Hut Cafe - Prachuap Beach for some cocktails after a great meal at a different location. we were enjoying ourselves playing pool and drinking cocktails, the cocktails were so bad it was funny strong but so far from what they should be. Still we were having fun. when suddenly this English person came to the back pool room and started saying we had to stop playing pool it was his bar and he wanted his friends to play. he was aggressive and rude why he couldn't just say hey guys can we play next which would have resulted in a no problem we will make this our last game is beyond me . I have been to Prachuap many times and never experienced this type of behavior. We left and carried on our night a few doors down were we drank cocktails played pool and made some new friends.
