This premium Japanese restaurant in Hua Hin is located in a narrow alley, where you may miss the entrance easily. The overall atmosphere is clean and well-lit, albeit it doesn't offer stunning sea views like many beachside restaurants in Hua Hin, mainly because it is not that close to the beach. You can park your car in the parking lot and have your ticket stamped before leaving, but I prefer on foot since the alley is so narrow and the road surface is rough. They offer two options for customers, either a la carte or buffet dining experience, which I chose the latter. There are three buffet options, well, not really a buffet but rather an "all you can eat" option, and the prices range from 599 THB, 799 THB, and 1,099 THB, all exclusive of VAT. You have two hours to place your orders, and the menu selection depends on your chosen option, but all of them include nonalcoholic beverages and desserts. I picked the most expensive option to pamper myself with foie gras. Overall, the menu is extensive, and while the quality is not extraordinary but not bad either. As I dined by myself, I couldn't try that many orders because you will be charged for the leftovers by weight, and you are not allowed to bring them back home. Yet, I did place 32 orders during the two-hour period because the portions were not that huge. In the end, I enjoyed the meal and considered it worth my money for what I ordered. By the way, it is worth noting that if you dine with your friends or family, all of you must choose the same...
Read moreGood sushi has been hard to find in my seven months in Hua Hin. I grew up in Seattle and dined on some of the best sushi to be had on the west coast. I ate it as often as possible. I need fresh, generous cuts of fish. It needs to be served cold and if nigiri or in a roll, the rice has to at least be warm. Disillusioned by visits to three different sushi restaurants in Hua Hin, my enthusiasm to try new places flagged. Today, in a Hua Hin FB group that I belong to had a discussion about good sushi or the lack thereof in the area. One person mentioned Tsunami and said that it was good. I had not even heard of it. A quick check in Google Maps, and a confirmation that they were open during these days of COVID, and I was on my way to go feast. I tried several different rolls and a few orders of different sashimi. The food came quick and, for the most part, was fresh. Unfortunately, the scallops on a stick, pictured, seemed less-than-fresh and we could not finish them. The place also lost points for the small cuts of fish, but what we did get was tasty. I really can’t complain. The menu is all-you-can-eat in 90 minutes, and it is ฿600 per person. The service was prompt and friendly. The girlfriend and I agreed that this will be our place for sushi in the future until we can find...
Read moreThe price per head is 699baht. The waitress really warned us that there is time limit at 1:30 hrs. If you can not eat all the orders, they will charge you 100baht per 100 grams. Many items to choose in the menu and the price includes foods, soft drinks and ice cream. Sounds good. For the quality side, yes, I agree with many comments that the fish was not that fresh and was cut too thin . Sushi rice was not cooked throughly, I chewed some uncooked grains. Mentaiko was not tasted like Mentaiko but very very salty. When we complained on this the manager kept arguing that they indicated in the menu that it is rather salty as Japanese taste, recommend not to eat with shoyu. No matter how we argued that it is very salty even we didn’t put shoyu, she still not admitted it . Well, we have ever eaten Mentaiko before and know that it doesn’t taste like this! 3 stars , so far , the grilled beef and amaebi are worth to try. Just to order the right plates, is my...
