The food here is genuinely good. Flavourful, well-prepared, and satisfying. But the service? Absolutely terrible, and it really ruined the experience.
At one point, our hot plate was taken away while the food was still cooking, without any explanation. It made no sense. We were confused, the food was nearly done, and it just felt careless.
We also asked for one beer, very clearly, even translating it through Google Translate, but still got three. It seemed like they just didn’t want to understand, and there was no effort to clarify.
Staff did replace the plate a few times earlier on, but later in the evening they became noticeably colder and more rigid. Toward the end, the plate started burning the leftover food and produced smoke that was blowing in our faces. We asked three people for help, but it took ages for anyone to respond.
Overall, it felt like we were being treated differently. Maybe because we were asking questions, or didn’t know exactly how things worked. Maybe there was a language barrier. But instead of patience, we were met with what felt like frustration or even annoyance. It made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
If the service had just been okay, this place would have got four stars. But it wasn’t. It was poor, and it let the whole experience down. Shame, really, because the...
Read moreAs a Western tourist, I cannot recommend this place. It costs 276 baht per person, plus 50 baht if you want soup. The system is complicated, and like much of Thailand, there’s an expectation that you already know how everything works.
There’s plenty of nice meat and vegetables, well labeled and with helpful staff. We hadn’t chosen the soup option but took some vegetables we wanted to grill. However, a staff member ran after us and said those were for soup, and we felt pressured into accepting the soup pot even though we didn’t want it.
There are signs everywhere warning of fines if you don’t finish your food. While I understand this at a buffet, it was very uncomfortable having the threat of a fine hanging over us the whole time.
I also missed having side dishes like rice. There was some, but it was dry. Clearly, this is a place that mainly focuses on meat.
To top it all off, the staff suddenly took away our grill. We thought they were replacing it, but the new one never came. We could have asked, but we were full and the kids were getting impatient.
So overall, it was an okay experience because it smells so good when you walk by—but for us, it...
Read moreI was excited to go to a local buffet. I looked at all the photos online, debated over this one and another. They have a good selection of food but unfortunately the food was not good at all. The lettuce even though it wasn't wilting tasted gone off, fried food was dry, the sliced meat was just terrible. Really really low quality meat, it was chewy and had a funky taste! I was worried it had gone bad. We didn't even bother trying all the meats because the ones we did try I immediately wanted to spit back out. The premade food was a little more edible. Everything was a little dry from sitting out all day. For me it was about 50/50 if the food was edible. On a positive note the drinks were nice enough, just very sweet and the dessert was decent too. They had a selection of coconut jellies and some ice creams. All and all I was very disappointed and considering I could have gotten 4 and a half tasty Pad Thais or other meals at the market it's most definitely not worth it...
