Saddens me to leave this review as this place used to be my absolute favorite but go here only if you want bad food and worst attitude staff serving you. We are locals who have been to this place more than 20 times and last we went was the worst experience. Judging from how management’s been responding here we think they don’t really care to improve. I also think they wouldn’t care if we complain so I’m just gonna leave my review here so at least some of you will read this and avoid the same experience.
Food was terrible. They used to be really good for the price but not anymore. Friend’s meat order came medium done instead of medium rare and they asked if we want the piece fixed or a new piece. How you could fix an overdone meat is beyond me. The pizza was also disappointing we didn’t finish it. The worst offenders were the risottos. We ordered two and they were both terribly undercooked. Not al dente but literally raw in the center. They were so bad we barely touched them. Nobody checked if our food was alright so I guess they knew.
They wanted to charge us corkage charge of 500THB for the birthday cakes we brought for our friend’s birthday. While I understand the no outside food policy, I’ve never actually been asked this for birthday cakes ever in Thailand especially at a place where they don’t serve birthday cakes themselves. We ended up negotiating that we’d order from their dessert menu (which we intended too and always did anyway) and even that it took some time for the supervisor to approve the corkage waiver.
Now the real “highlight” was the staff’s attitude. Place closes at 11PM but when we asked for a wine list at 10.30PM, they complained among themselves, audibly to us in Thai, that we were gonna take long and they’re sleepy so better not give us. The flock of staff then sent one lady which we guessed must be their senior to talk to us. She rudely dismissed us asking what do you want while not giving us wine list. I guess they were instructed to make beverages sales until closing so they don’t outright deny us but try to not give us list with really dismissive attitude instead. This all happened while there were at least still 10-15 tables of very clearly Caucasian looking guests sitting, dining, some even still ordering. We didn’t contest because we know then our money is better spent literally anywhere else.
All in all, it was a terrible experience and I sincerely don’t wish that upon anyone so go spend your money somewhere else really. We regret spending 12.5k with 1k service charge that’s so undeserved. They’d also not be able to improve on their service anytime soon as Phuket is in a manpower shortage right now so they can’t afford to fire bad staff and...
Read moreFresca is a stunning, newly built dining complex in Phuket that offers a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The architecture and interior design are modern and stylish, providing a chic ambiance perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. However, one thing to note is that the location is a bit off the beaten path. It’s situated farther away from the main tourist hubs, so be prepared for a bit of a drive. That said, the journey is absolutely worth it for the dining experience that awaits.
When it comes to the food, Fresca truly excels, especially with its steak offerings. I ordered the Black Angus steak, which was cooked beautifully—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. However, I had the chance to sample the Wagyu steak as well, and it was undoubtedly the superior choice. The Wagyu was incredibly rich and buttery, melting in the mouth with each bite. If you’re torn between the two, I highly recommend opting for the Wagyu; it’s a standout on the menu and well worth the indulgence.
For dessert, the honey cake was exceptional. Light yet decadent, it struck the perfect balance of sweetness without being overwhelming. It’s a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth and serves as a delightful end to the meal.
The wine selection at Fresca is also impressive. I enjoyed a glass of Zinfandel, which paired wonderfully with the steak. The wine was rich and robust, complementing the meat’s flavors without overpowering them. Their wine list offers a thoughtful variety, so wine lovers will appreciate the options available.
Overall, Fresca offers a high-end dining experience with quality dishes, elegant ambiance, and attentive service. Despite its remote location, the exceptional food and atmosphere make it worth the visit. Just remember to go for the Wagyu steak and save room for the honey cake—you...
Read moreI've been a loyal customer of Fresca for years ever since it opened and have always enjoyed the food and ambiance. However, sadly my visit tonight was disappointing and fell short of the excellent standards we are used to at Fresca. I’m leaving this constructive feedback in hopes that it leads to improvements.
We ordered a pizza for starters while deciding on our mains. Unfortunately, the pizza arrived very late, and just a few minutes later, our mains and all sides were then served at the table. Since we didn't want everything to get cold while eating the pizza, we asked the staff to keep the mains warm. However, when they were brought back, they were completely cold.
Ideally the kitchen should have organised the timing better, so that the main was served hot after the starter was finished. In this case I would have expected the mains to be recooked because cold food is not great.
On top of that, the teas we ordered after the meal were forgotten — seems service was off today.
When paying, we shared our feedback with the two cashiers, suggesting that the kitchen start preparing mains only after delivering the starter to avoid this issue next time. She apologised and deducted the cost of a Coke and the boiled rice—neither of which were the actual issue. It was a very odd resolution.
This experience left a sour note, especially since I've always loved Fresca. I hope the restaurant service improves both in food timing and how feedback is handled. I’ll definitely return, but I hope my next visit reflects the high standards Fresca is known for amongst my friends and I.
The rest of the staff did...
