Restaurant Da Puccio — Restaurant in Rawai

We went here to take a break from Thai food and have “some pizza or something”. We are family of five and ordered three pizzas to test as non-thai food is typically average quality - not bad but nothing special...in 10 minutes we ordered another pizza as they were really really tasty and kind of “light” in stomach. This is a restaurant run by experienced Italian chef who seems to me after a long talk a guy obsessed with quality, accepting no compromises for ingredients, preparation and cooking process. He explained to me pizza making process and it’s quite an engineering work e.g. dough must rest for at least 36 hours so the carbs in flour got fermented, so as a result it’s easier to digest. The oven is made of stones with wood being used for fire...and i could continue talking about pizza engineering but that would be boring. We also had ice cream, tiramisu and panacotta - everything super tasty. So far this is the best Italian restaurant I’ve found...

It continues to be disappointing at how many reviews are so incredibly misleading. The pizza is okay for a pizza made in THAILAND.

Reviewers’ pics and Da Puccio’s own photos are very misleading. Customers must be aware that these are in no way, shape or form like pizzas from the west. They are small (think microwaveable frozen pizza size) and therefore expensive. However, Da Puccio’s does appear to use fresh toppings and cook to order, so that is a positive.

You could do MUCH, MUCH worse with regard to ordering pizza in Thailand (The Pizza Company immediately comes to mind). But it just does not change the fact that the pictures are misleading and the price is very high for what you get.

No redeeming...

Unsure how this restaurant has this much stars. Went there afte checking reviews and very disappointed. There were only few tables occupied, not busy at all. Yet it taken them to bring our burrata salad and burger almost 1 hour. Our burger was taken to another table by mistake and customer told them they haven't ordered this and it went back to kitchen. After 15 more minutes, we could not wait anymore as almost 1 hour wait and only received soggy pizza and salad and burger have not arrived. We was told 2 minutes and it will come. Waited 15 more minutes 😫 We received a cold burger, dry, and no flavour at all and burrata salad with very low quality defrosted mozzarella cheese. I know how Italian food tastes, been Italy many times, but...
