We visited Caveman Barbeque & Craft Beer in Rayong and had a mixed experience. The atmosphere is great, cozy and chill with a nice vibe, and the staff were lovely and attentive throughout our visit. Their service really stood out in the best way.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet our expectations. We ordered the shared platter which came with two side dishes: mac & cheese and coleslaw. The mac & cheese was quite disappointing, just fusilli with some cheese on top and barely any flavor. The coleslaw was decent, nothing special but passable.
As for the meats: • Ribs were the highlight. They were tender, fell off the bone, and had a great flavor. Very well executed. • Brisket was dry and lacking in flavor. • Duck was actually a pleasant surprise, a bit on the dry side, but flavorful enough to be enjoyable. • Chicken wings were unfortunately very dry and tasted like they’d been microwaved — definitely the most disappointing item on the platter.
The beer wasn’t really cold either, which didn’t help the overall experience.
While the food needs improvement, especially considering it’s a BBQ place, the excellent service and nice setting make it worth a visit if you’re in the area, just keep your expectations in check when it comes...
Read moreFinding an American barbecue restaurant on this stretch of the beach is a treasure. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many draft beer options. For me, Guinness was the star, even though it cost more than some other options. For my first visit, I ordered wings, sausage and a classic beef burger. All the meat was high quality and cooked well with a mellow smoked flavor, as I would expect. I wish barbeque sauce had been included with the other condiments. The steak fries were great but the serving size could have been bigger. I thought the food prices were reasonable for the quality. Being the only customers, the atmosphere was subdued and the staff could have been more attentive. The 100% country music, which I get is part of the theme, was a bit much for my taste. Ultimately, I would go back for the draft beer alone but I would also like to try...
Read moreSimply delighted to discover this rare gem in my neighbourhood. To have draught Guinness is an extra special treat, and too that off with a really good local Brewdog IPA. I'm in heaven. The food we had was a sampling platter which ample for 4 people at a very reasonable price. We did add the nachos as an appetiser which was perfect. I can't u dersrabd why the owners don't advertise the fact they have draught Guinness using roadside signage. I'd have screeched to a halt outside and gone in months ago. I only found out through word of mouth. Have been back twice and not been disappointed. Even bought some of their frozen beef steak offerings and they cooked up just fine. The Thai-US Bramin is good value for money. Don't overcook it! Will splurge and try the Wagu next time. Everyone should check...
