Visited Laem Ya restaurant at Rayong Beach. The Thai food is standard with additional Western options. Unfortunately, on New Year's Eve, lunch service was lacking attention due to the upcoming evening party. Our friends, arriving later, couldn't order as the kitchen was prepping for dinner. Wish they'd informed us initially. It’s poor communication.
Staff seemed a bit overwhelmed—perhaps tired from the festive season. Communication, especially in English, posed challenges. Brace yourself for that. The bar raised trust concerns, so we stuck to beer. 😝
Previously it’s better, the beachside location now faces increased activity for the car and truck traffic, making it less safe for kids. Staff very friendly and attentive, excellent English speaking.
The menu was extensive, seafood, Thai and Western food. Menu was in English, Russian and Thai.
I chose the shrimp with garlic plus rice. I wasn’t a fan of the dish, I was expecting stir fried shrimp (crisp) with plenty of garlic. I was served a dish with soft shrimp smothered in a garlic and onion sauce.
I will go back and try another dish but the one I ordered wasn’t to my taste.
