Mama's restaurant is tucked away in a quiet corner of the Marriott resort, right on the beach, and it's hands down the best dining experience on Nai Yang Beach. This place operates several levels above the other beachfront restaurants in the area.
Surprisingly, the hotel doesn't actively promote this outstanding restaurant, which works in diners' favor - despite having limited seating, you can usually get a table without much wait. It feels like discovering a well-kept secret.
While the menu isn't extensive, every single dish is crafted with care and attention to detail. The presentation is beautiful, and the flavors are exceptional. My personal favorites are the pineapple and shrimp salad (perfectly balanced sweet and savory) and the sea bass prepared three ways - though honestly, I haven't had a disappointing dish here yet.
The staff deserves special mention - they're genuinely warm and attentive without being intrusive. Service feels personal and unhurried, exactly what you want for a beachside dinner.
The small bar is equally impressive, offering quality spirits and creative cocktails. I love ending my evening here with a good whiskey and a cigar, watching the sunset. When I'm in a lighter mood, their signature cocktails are creative and expertly mixed - clearly made by bartenders who know their craft.
Yes, there are plenty of dining options around Nai Yang Beach, but Mama's has become my non-negotiable stop during every Marriott stay. The combination of exceptional food, stellar service, and that perfect beachside ambiance makes it special.
Other guests have mentioned the romantic atmosphere for couples and the peaceful setting away from crowds - I couldn't agree more. This is fine dining in a relaxed, tropical setting done right.
Highly recommended for anyone staying at the Marriott or even visiting from other hotels...
Read moreBeautiful outside bar and restaurant. Great views of the sea. Twinkling lights with high bar stools, bean bags or regular restaurant seating. We ate here twice out of our 3 night stay at the Marriott. Pad kha prao with pork, portion size was rather small. Green curry bowl was huge. Flavours and quality very good for both. Massam curry, with roti, was very good too. We enjoyed the live music, very good singing and funny ad libs. Magic tricks also added another fun dimension to the evening. Marshmallow roasting is on every night, great for kids (and adults) and complimentary cocktail hour, every other night. Barman will throw in more rum if you don’t think it’s strong enough ☺️. Loved the mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream, as well as the birthday serenade. Great evenings spent here. Would highly recommend and return. no toilets, you have to walk all the way back...
Read moreThis is a new food establishment in Phuket Marriott Nai Yang Beach (8 months old as of this post). It had not opened yet when I was here last year. The absolute star and gem of this place is the bartender & waiter & PR guy: Kam. Kam is very fluent in English and he engages his customers excellently well with a charming sense of humour. The place itself has picturesque view. The food menu should be reviewed and I didn't find the food to be anything more than just average. However, I would come back again for Kam's superb service as well as recommending this hotel's Refresh, Refuel,...
