Ilona Cake Phuket — Restaurant in Si Sunthon

Decided to order from here as the page had a lot of good reviews. However the cake I have received was terrible. Ordered what was meant to be chocolate heart cake. There was so much cocoa powder all over the cake, that it tasted bitter. Then we tried to eat just inside and it did not taste like chocolate cake at all, instead it tasted like honey and had yellow bits inside the cake(guessing it was honey?!). When I told the cake maker this she denied using honey, so I don’t understand why it would taste like honey and not chocolate? And seemed like she tried blaming it on me that we didn’t like the cake, saying I should’ve specified the taste preferences, however all I asked for was a chocolate cake so I don’t see how that’s so hard to make. My partner didn’t have a birthday cake because nobody liked it and we had to get rid of it. Maybe other cakes taste okay, but the one we got was just terrible and...

Fabulous! The best cake I’ve had in Phuket! I came to Ilona’s shop in the afternoon with a short notice order for a birthday cake for 40 people and Ilona made it happen (without breaking a sweat). I picked it up next day at 8am and I was in Heaven at 3pm when it (finally) was time to cut the cake. The cake not only looked beautiful (sorry the 7-11 birthday candles were my own addition) but also tasted divine, as all the 40+ guests agreed. Yumm can’t wait for the next birthday I can order...
