A's Famous — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Visited on a Sunday morning and had a most wonderful breakfast. I had the Lumberjack with hot, tasty scrambled eggs, great bacon, and two perfectly done pancakes. Real maple-flavored syrup instead of honey or worse.

The lady had the ham and cheese omelet that came with a crusty (in a good way) English muffin. We added fried potatoes on the side (well, I did, because for some reason I thought I would still be hungry. I wasn't)

I love it when food comes to the table hot, unless it's salad. Everything was delicious, and the English muffin made me very happy, though she only left me two bites. I haven't had a proper English muffin in years.

The service was friendly and prompt. Great atmosphere.

Oh! And another thing I have not seen in a long time...complimentary ice water served to the table in glassware. I mean, I'm okay with the self-serve from the tin cups in most local restaurants, but I almost thought I was back in the States...

This cafe has a great location right in the heart of Koh phangan. The place looks great. The inside had an modern American diner atmosphere. The front was open to the small road connecting to the main road so not alot of traffic noises. Although however, when I entered, I felt slightly unwanted. I came in and the staff were avoiding eye contact with me. I almost turned around to find another cafe but instead I just found a table and they served me.

The food however was sublime. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was the best one I've ever tasted in my life. I also ordered the espresso with ice cream and was sweet and rich in taste. They use quality ingredients and you can tell right away.

Overall, the food is a must try here...

For me one of my most favourite places to eat in South East Asia and especially on the island of Koh Phangan. I have enjoyed their fine dining and in house roasted coffee for nearly a decade. For any place to be this consistent this long is truly one of a kind. So much changes in Asia but A's Famous has remained a constant throughout all my travels. Their home made breads, bagels, and muffins are baked daily and served by others here. They have a great menu with a variety of classic diner style blue plate favourites including vegetarian options, fresh squeezed juices, Mexican options, and daily specials.
