Buffalo Steakhouse — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

We went as a group of eight adults and one child, having booked a specific table. We arrived early evening and were the only people there other than a couple who were already eating. As a group of four Farangs and four Thais there was not have been any issues with communications, or so we assumed. We were shown to a different table than the table we had specifically reserved. We asked for a highchair, it never arrived. When we ordered starters and main courses to be served separately, five of the meals turned up completely, all together and in one go. The rest of us received our starters and then nothing for nearly two hours! TWO HOURS! As we were busy chatting we didn't realise how long we had been waiting until half of our party had finished their meals and were bored with sitting there. I asked the waitress when the rest of our meals - two steaks and two burgers - would be arriving and was told it would be another ten minutes. Twenty minutes later we were still waiting and I had to ask again and got the same reply. By this time the restaurant had filled up, other groups had eaten and were even leaving. Our two burgers arrived ten minutes later but no sign of the steaks, so my friend asked about those; again the same reply. When we had finished the burgers, the steaks eventually appeared. Two and a half hours after we ordered them. Obviously, they would have to have been made of gold and taste like heaven to be worth that wait. Were they? Absolutely not. The chips were cold when they arrived, The burger was a dark brown, dry, grainy mass that was more like a falafel than a burger (and missing the cheese we had specifically asked for when we ordered, by the way). Both of the steaks were both incorrectly cooked. When we had finished, there was no apologies, no reduction in the bill. The owner, who had been sat at the neighbouring table, entertaining a group of his friends, got up to say goodbye! This was the worst dining experience we have ever had on Koh Samui in eighteen years. There is a desperate need for a manager there who knows how to run a restaurant and provide good...

Read the reviews and thought let’s go for it. Staff greeted us well and the venue looked great waitress took our orders all seemed fantastic. Drinks were served promptly all was going so well...but then the food started to be served I ordered a ribeye steak with french fry’s and a side salad, well I was expecting a nice big juicy steak but to my surprise this very small and thin piece meat was place in front of me, I had to ask if this was what I ordered and to my amazement it was correct, I had to laugh as my friend ordered the sirloin and that came up small and thin. The chips and so called salad, well the chips I could buy in a frozen packet from Tesco or macro not what you expect to be served at a high priced steak house. The salad or so called, still trying to work out why, consisted of 3 bits of raw onion rings 2 bits of lettuce leaves and 1/2 a dozen cherry tomatoes... Well I’m not a food critic but I don’t like to get ripped off and I felt like we had truly been fleeced.. Can’t t see how this has ever had any good reviews, maybe placed by owners and staff?? NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS WILL WE EVER GO...

Terrible burgers / [not] French Onion Soup. Our group of 6 ate at the restaurant and 2 of us had the hamburger and 1 person ordered the "French Onion Soup". The soup was not a classic crock cooked thick onion soup with melted cheeses but rather about a cup of thin, clear watery broth with some onion pieces floating in it with a slab of cheese on the side. When I asked about the soup I was told it was "Thai" style French onion soup. It was tasteless and clearly NOT French onion soup. As for the hamburgers, both I and the other person who ordered it were surprised at the meat - which was a dense sponge -like finely minced concoction. Both burgers were overcooked making them tasteless and hard to eat. Absolutely the worst burgers I've ever eaten anywhere in the world. On the up side, the other diners with us said that the steak was excellent but since I did not eat the steak, I cannot attest to the quality or taste, And, by the way, if you ask for extra bread, its 10 baht per small slice. The service staff is excellent and attentive. My advice - stick with the steaks unless you want to be...
