My experience visiting the “Madam Dum” salon has not been pleasant the last few times.
First of all, the hygiene in the salon has deteriorated significantly. The furniture seems like it hasn’t been cleaned. Very often, when the salon is empty and you are the only client, the workers and masters act as if you aren’t even there.
You come in for a manicure, and they are preoccupied with each other: they make noise, talk loudly, eat at the table right next to you, and chat. Often during the procedure, I have to remind them and ask them to pay attention to important details in their work.
I understand that there aren’t many clients during the low season, but when they do come into a half-empty salon, it’s strange to find yourself in an atmosphere that feels more like a food market in the roadside rather than a luxury salon.
That’s exactly the impression you get when there’s noise, commotion, loud conversations, discussions, and laughter around you, and you are the only client.
I constantly had to remind the master to focus on the process, rather than the conversation happening half a meter away from me.
It’s also unpleasant to sit at a table where people are eating next to you, laying out their personal items, or even playing casino games on their phone. In my recent visits, I had to repeatedly ask them to pay attention to the work so that it would be done properly.
Considering that the price for a manicure is above average, it’s odd that I have to remind them about things that should be the workers’ basic responsibility. I felt very uncomfortable when the masters would consult each other about my nails, as if none of them really knew what they were doing.
I can’t say the manicure was done with super professionalism. For its price, it’s acceptable, but there is one major issue.
The girls handle the electric nail drills very carelessly, filing down the nail plate, after which my nails need a long recovery. This is definitely not something I’m willing to pay for.
It’s very disappointing to see that the quality of service in the salon has fallen so much, especially since when the salon’s owner is present, this kind of behavior from the staff doesn’t happen. I hope things...
Read moreWe came there to have a hair spa and a foot spa. We booked the place two days before, and they forgot to register us, we arrived at the place and had to wait 25 minutes while the employees argued among themselves which of us to let in. In addition, the fee for the foot treatment is 70 minutes, and even though the treatment was only 45 minutes they demanded the full amount (890 baht!) so pay attention. There weren't many materials used that justified the price, and my therapist spent 15 minutes of the time sitting on her phone waiting for the cream to absorb into my foot. It's important to note that it has nothing to do with whether or not you have your nails trimmed - my partner did have them trimmed, I didn't because I had gel polish on my feet (and I wasn't told that those with gel polish had a 40-minute treatment), so even though I didn't have the cuticle trimmed, my partner's treatment was 45 minutes and he did. When we explained the situation to them, the attitude was not pleasant (and it seems from their responses to the less favorable reviews here that they also take no responsibility for anything and blame the customer). We left with a very bad feeling about...
Read moreIt's called a premium nail spa, with prices close to the USA prices. I noticed only two premium features - interior, and clean, individually packed tools.
In premium massage spas, for example, the difference with other spas that a master pays attention to you, greets you, looks at your reactions and does not talk to other staff members while working with me. Here I felt like an object, not like a person (like in a cheap massage spa). Also, my toe nails were significantly damaged by unnecessary machine polishment - a master used it to remove my old polish with sparks and it was simply faster for her. I do not...
