Out of the countless places to eat along the street this was the only place which was packed. Based on the reviews of having to wait for an hour for the pizza I was hesitant to enter but we did anyway. My son of 4 fancied a pizza after three weeks so we went for the Marinara basic pizza (99 thb). If you want toppings prices will be around 250 thb for one pizza. They're fair sized though. The pizza was directly prepared after ordering it in front of our eyes and was served within 5 minutes at our table. With every table in the restaurant being full. Not sure what went wrong for the others nagging about waiting times but maybe we were just lucky. Pizza was VERY tasty. Just garlic, tomato sauce and a perfect crusty bottom. Yum! We went for the fried rice with egg (70 thb) and Thai dish with cashew nuts (120 thb) and white rice (20 thb). Super tasty and decent size portion. Only the strawberry and banana fruit shakes (70 thb each) were among the worst we've had thus far after three weeks of Thailand. Very watery and pretty much no taste to them. Service is okay. They speak pretty much no English but with some hand signals and pointing we could make it work. Free decent WiFi is available.

Edit: went back one day later again. Took the gorgonzola pizza this time (250 thb), fried chicken panang curry (100 thb) and again the fried chicken with cashew nuts (120 thb for which they charged 130 thb today, not worth a fight but be sure to check your bill!). No drinks at all this time as they sucked yesterday. Must say it was the best food (boh the pizza and the two Thai dishes) we've had in 3 weeks Thailand. We got the fruit smoothies from a small place just accross the bridge for just 30 thb this time and they...

The marinara pizza was really, really bad. With no cheese you need this pizza to have good tomato topping, but the pizza was overcooked and the sauce dried on and flavourless. It was so bad I even asked them to remake it, but the replacement came out just as dry, moreso even (see picture). I had to douse it oil and dip in ketchup to make it edible, but it was still terrible. Two stars because the bruschetta al pomodoro was tasty, and the spaghetti al pomodoro was ok, though still lacking in any real tomato flavour.

I know not to expect great quality from an Italian restaurant in Thailand, but the quality of the pizza was no better than an overcooked basics supermarket pizza. Pizzas with cheese looked better, and sound like they're ok from other reviews, but don't expect anything good if you don't eat cheese.

I don't like to post negative reviews, but this place seriously...

the staff here doesent want to make eye contact, so its very hard to order. we waited a long time, and ecentuallt had to ask them to order ourselves. when we ordered, they forgot the one thing, and we ate at different times, and had to wait in the end for the friend who didnt get her thing. in trying to ask about the food, i got eye contact with one waiter, he motioned that he would come, and as i nodded, he looked away as if he was scared and sat down, then helped someone else.

we were nice and all, yet it seemed like the whole staff had social anxiety and amnesia. waited a long time for food, and when it came, it was very clear that the place has no idea what italian food is. they missed on what a real margherita is and the portions were small for the prices.

dont reccommend. nothing...

Can’t speak too much to the “atmosphere” because we were the only ones in the restaurant during slow season but the food and service were great! There’s a few CHAO restaurants in town and this one I believe is the first or original one and the only one with a wood oven (that I could tell). We all ate pizza and they came out super hot and delicious. Prices were tourist prices but it’s to be expected in a small town in the middle of nowhere with cheese and other perishable ingredients. Overall loved it
