Metang Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

We were warmly welcomed by the lovely family running the restaurant. They made us feel right at home and were very patient in answering all our questions.

The food was absolutely delicious. While the wide noodles with stir-fried vegetables (or something similar) weren’t exactly my favorite, the muesli (a bit small), the American breakfast, stir-fried pumpkin with egg, the pork and chicken burgers with French fries, and the banana pancakes were all fantastic! Everything was very tasty.

The fruit shakes were always super fresh, delicious, and naturally sweet — not too sugary, which we really appreciated. The cappuccino was a bit too sweet for my personal taste, but still very enjoyable.

It might take a little longer sometimes, but it’s always worth the wait, and you can tell everything is cooked with a lot of love. And all of this at great prices.

It’s a shame we discovered this place only after a few days. Otherwise, we would have eaten here every day!

Terrible Experience – Not Even Close to Real Pad Thai

We were really disappointed with our visit. We ordered Pad Thai, but what we got was absolutely not Pad Thai – just plain noodles, a dry omelet, and some salad, all served separately. No flavor, no sauce, nothing that resembled the real dish.

We politely tried to express that we weren’t satisfied with the food or service, but instead of understanding, the response was rude and dismissive. The staff turned out to be two underage kids and their mother, who was surprisingly arrogant and defensive, even though we remained calm and respectful.

To avoid any unpleasant scene, we paid and left. Shockingly, the woman even took photos of us as we were leaving – extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable behavior.

Definitely not recommended. There are so many better places to enjoy real Thai food and hospitality – this is not...

Terrible experience – avoid at all costs!

We came to the restaurant and were the only guests. A girl who didn’t speak any English tried to take our order. We asked for two Pad Thais and later added an omelet. She misunderstood and brought only one dish. When we asked again, we received something that wasn’t even Pad Thai – just soggy macaroni, some cabbage, and three disgusting shrimp. No vegetables, no flavor.

I got my food much later than my partner, and it was so bad I couldn’t eat it. I refused the dish and explained we wouldn’t pay for it. That’s when an incredibly rude woman came over, started yelling at us, and even took photos of us without our permission.

The service was beyond awful, and the food was inedible. I’ve never had such a bad experience at a restaurant. Absolutely do not go here – terrible attitude, terrible food, terrible...
