We visited and had several meals at Ethos Café & Shala in Srithanu during our Koh Phangan stay in late August/early September. All we can say is this: you’ve got to visit it. It’s an awesome place to hang out in the heart of the village. The whole-food menu is thorough enough to cover all tastes and preferences. We’ve had breakfast, brunch and lunch so we tried quite a few dishes, and we were delighted. The relaxed yet bright atmosphere was excellent. Both inside the Café and the outside terrace/garden-faced tables one can enjoy its delicacies. You must try signature dishes such as the homemade ravioli with ricotta, the vegan lasagna or the homemade vegan sweets (especially the banana bread). All were super fresh, tasty and delicious. Luca, the man in charge of Ethos has made it possible that you can be at a place that combines a whole-food café with a Shala where lots of yoga/wellness events happen during the day. Amazing place where you can meet amazing people. Do not miss it if you visit Koh Phangan/Srithanu!

Such a lovely place! So fresh and spacious, with high ceilings I love. Matcha was perfect and served in a lovely cup. And vegan lasagna very healthy 🌱✨🌿 There are so many interesting options in the menu I would have to come back for more ☺️ Background music really soothing. Nice people around. No restriction about laptop and working online. So you can check your emails in a Very nice atmosphere. Tables are stable and wooden. Everything is new and shining. And this lovely attention to small details like flower, huge mirror in a toilet. All nice, fresh and clean. Nice service, delicious food, lovely atmosphere. Is all you need 💚 Really recommended. Well done!

Lovely atmosphere for dining and coworking. Here’s my experience: • The ravioli are delicious and worth trying. • If you’re not a fan of ice in your juice, be sure to mention it when ordering. • The cappuccino with oat milk is excellent—highly recommended! • The avocado toast and summer rolls wasn’t my favorite; it lacked some flavor. • For fried eggs, if you prefer a runny yolk, let the staff know; otherwise, they might arrive overcooked. • The sushi was a bit dry, but it does provide a decent serving of veggies. Overall, a pleasant spot with a few things to keep in mind when ordering!

I expected this place to be sooo good based of the other reviews, however I was very disappointed - I did not even finish my food as it was hard to force down - for 150 baht, you should recieve a better toast than what I did.

The scrambled egg toast with sourdough had many pitfalls

  1. the bread did not taste like sourdough bread, but rather like fine bread bought at the supermarket (not toast bread though)
  2. the bread tasted dry
  3. the scramble eggs were also over cooked till dry.

While the dish comes with ketchup, ketchup is not a good way to prevent the toast from becoming dry. I am missing salted butter for the bread, proper sourdough bread and overall for the dish to be easy to eat. The dish also came with a dip of some sort, however it did not suit my tastebuds. The salad on the side is okay if you like tomato.

They should also replace their current knives if they are like the one I got, which was not sharp and made it hard to even cut through the bread. When a place looks as beautiful and everything seems thought through, I expect the cutlery to be good too.

On the other hand, the ambience of the cafe is very nice and relaxing, most of the staff were great and friendly. I hope in the future that the food match the beautiful aesthetic of the cafe - easy changes...

Just started visiting recently and it's already a firm favourite. Comfortable, light and airy with thoughtfully chosen decor. The staff are warm and attentive. Gorgeous garden area and it's away from the main road which can be a huge relief on busy days.

The owner is clearly very passionate about the menu and the experience he provides; I've seen him talking to customers about the food and listening carefully to their feedback. Great music, which is rare.

I see some very big bowls going out but other dishes are on the small side, such as cakes and the incredibly tasty purple pancakes; I'm told they are increasing the portion size of the latter.

A fantastic place, highly recommended; my only request would be that they are a little more generous with...
