HOOLIGAN — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

This is a Georgian restaurant, and the whole thing about Georgia is the hospitality. We walked in and no one noticed us, we had to look for someone to tell us where we could sit. This place feels more like a nightclub than a restaurant, and the owner doesn’t seem to care much about the guests. Half of the items on the menu were unavailable because "one of the chefs was out of town," including things we ordered, and we were told half an hour later that we couldn’t get them. The food came at weird intervals, with something arriving every fifteen minutes, which ruined the meal. An hour and a half after we ordered, we still hadn’t gotten everything and just wanted to leave. The food was okay but far from authentic (my wife was born in Georgia), and the prices were wayyyy higher than what it was worth, to an extreme degree. This place is good but didn't completely "wow" us, so we give 4 stars

Our favorites were the khinkali (like huge dumplings) and the khachapuri (like bread pie). We got the mini khachapuri sampler, it is a good value. The cheese+butter+egg khachapuri was our favorite, really amazing! And the spinach one was great too. The seafood khachapuri was good but very strong fishy taste, it's kind of like walking into a fish market my Thai friends joked (thankfully, we all like that flavor)

The Georgian salad looked great but was disappointingly bland, and the yogurt soup - I forget what it was called - was just okay, also kind of weak flavor

I have always wanted to try Georgian food and I am glad I got to go here. If I go back, I think I would get more khachapuri and khinkali, which were fantastic, but skip the appetizers. The other entrees look good too but maybe...

Came 2 days in a row 1 time all good, the Thai server got our order, we had great dinner, delicious food, cool ambiance, good service, 2 night , Russian woman took our order, 1 tish hour passed, not food, nothing, we asked what was happening , another Russian woman apologies and said our order wasn’t place , still don’t know wtf happens later our food arrived in to go boxes because the same server who didn’t place the order decided that was a “ good idea “ we had to ask for plates and eat like that on the table , they give some discount for...
