Mama’s Thai food — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Mama’s Thai Food is an absolute gem. It’s a one-woman operation, so be patient. Everything is homemade, flavorful, and very affordablec(50 baht for any dish).

The real standout for me are the smoothies. Hands down the best I’ve had on the island. Thick, fresh, and just 50 baht — they’d easily cost over $10 back in the U.S. I ended up coming back almost every day just for those. Order one while you wait for your food (usually takes less than 5 minutes for smoothies), I promise you won't regret it.

FYI, Mama may look a little serious while taking your order (you have to go to the counter and give her your order), but she’s pretty nice, just focused and working hard to make all the orders herself.

Came with review but dissapointed!

Mama's food is good taste but very small in portion sure comes with small price. But to be honest there are elsewhere 50 bath food with bigger portion and great taste you can find!

Also once awhile happen to see she gives bigger portion food to her some called "Favourite Customer" with the sane price which makes it feels a bit of inequality service in that sense👎

She can get moody and upset when there are lots of customer in shop. Understable that she cook alone but to have bad enery in food is NOT okay! Sometimes she even say MEAN things in "Thai" about customer thinking foreinger don't understsnd Thai and putting on the fake smile after saying it! Its unaccetable behaviour!!!

This has been the best food we have eaten in Thailand! Like other reviews have said, it doesn’t look like much from the street but a lady cooks each dish from scratch and can make all of them with tofu if you’re vegetarian. We went there twice in a row for dinner as we were just amazed at the taste, quality and price of the food (each dish 50 baht). The morning glory is a must we watched her run over the road to buy some fresh greens for it! Also, she has the timing perfect with mine and my partners dishes all arriving at the same time - something that has no happened much in our 9 weeks in SE Asia!
