Orion Cafe — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

TLDR: 100% service, smiles, laughs and 100% professional hospitality from the Orion Café crew. Healthy and yummy vegan and vegetarian meals, elixirs and drinks with a picturesque view and calming vibes, a bonus. 💯

I think Orion Healing Centre would not be what it is without the accommodations staff, massage therapists, cleaning staff, builders, landscapers, reception staff, kitchen staff, and Orion Café Staff. All of these people make Orion the magical place that it is, everyday.

A special thank you to the Orion Café crew for all of the jokes, smiles and good times. I recommend the Bliss Bowl, Golden Milk and Green Goddess Juice!

As a solo female traveler visiting Thailand for the first time, Orion Cafe was a safe haven. I am a yoga teacher myself, with a 200hrTT done in 2014, and I was curious to see this establishment.

To the upcoming yoga teachers and Orion guests, please make sure to make a connection with the people who make your experience (even if you don't know the language): this is what yoga is 🙏🏼. Tip all service workers well, and tip frequently, make them laugh, and smile often: karma comes back 11x fold. Namaste :)

Wow… what a nightmare this was… coming inside to reception you feel like heaven. But… no one tells you that you actually reside opposite the street (not on the beautiful beach), in Bungalows that are old and smell badly of disinfectants, with a cement floor that is in an angle that actually makes you dizzy, with water from the shower instead of going to the drainage, flowing freely on the bathroom floor! Just to get out between the bamboos wall. And, at least 50 Honney bees that came to drink these water, were found dead on the shower floor as they inhaled the disinfectant that I smelt all night. I checked out the next morning of course and the reservation manager was very nice (unlike the desk reception people), but unfortunately explained to me that they can not refund my stay as they have “no refund policy”. How convenient for the owners…2 other people this morning checked out ahead of time. The bungalows next to the nice area of this place (the beach side) might be nicer, but I do not know. Do yourself a favor and never come close to this place…food is great and hence their score is high. So you can just go eat. It is on the beach and atmosphere...

My Top 1 place in Ko Pha-ngan. It is not just the food, but the entire ambient that surround this place. The people, the location and the infrastructure. Everything was thought in just one way and that is wellness. Expect to pay a little more, but is worth every penny. Not sure if there is a busy time, but at least for all my visits I never have to wait too long. Apart from the restaurant, which is full Vegan, there is also a Healing center, so you can come here and spend the day, let´s say having a "Magical shot" in the morning, right before your yoga class at 09:30hrs, then staying until lunch working in your laptop in one of the coolest tables in front of the beach (fast WiFi), ordering a incredible "Om Ramen" (see details in image) and then joining one of the Body Awareness Meditation session at 14:00hrs (full plan included), and keep going until late.
