Cocoa Phangan Cakes - The Cake Shop - Cakey — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

I’m sorry. As pretty as the desserts look they just are not good. I lived next door for a month and tried it at least 4 or 5 times. The cheesecakes have no cream cheese nor cream cheese flavor. They are like undercooked cookies in some flavors and like generic pudding pie in other flavors. The white mouse pie is simply confectioners sugar on top of a thick brick-like, not sweet crust. All the pies use this extremely thick and under sweetened crust. Many people come here for the vegan ice fruit or frozen vegan coconut creams, but as far as a cake, pastry, or bakery shop as their listing titles; I’ve regretted every purchase. And not due to the calories. I went to Family Mart or 711 straight after to satisfy my sweet tooth with some (unfortunately) packaged sweets. Crave, or your local restaurant will be a better dessert option....

A must try place!! I cannot recommend this cake shop enough!!!! Not only do they have an incredible selection of delicious cakes, at an unbeatable price, generous serving size, their warm hospitality will make you want to come back again & again.

So yesterday morning I wanted to pick up some cake for a new friend’s belated birthday. I wasn’t sure was flavour she would like so I asked if it would be okay to buy a pan of mixed flavours. They kindly helped me out with that, lent me the baking pan, AND gave me free candles and a happy birthday cake sign, and on top of that, when they saw me struggling to balance the cake pan on my motorbike, they even helped me drop it off. I love the staff here, I love the cakes here, no better cake place on this...

I’ve tried this place a few times now, hoping I’d enjoy the food more - because it’s a cozy place to hang out, and the desserts look so pretty through the window. But every dessert I’ve gotten has ended up tasting like a generic creamy glob of sugar with some food coloring. I love Thai tea and I love cheesecake. Their Thai tea cheesecake is nothing like either. It’s like orange-colored whipped cream with a bunch of sugar. The Oreo cheesecake and some other brownie chocolate mousse cake were similarly… bland and strange. I ordered Pad Thai, but they were out of it. So I settled for the Pad See Ew, and it was okay. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this place, there’s plenty of better food on...
