Yesss, buckle up – Batty goes FULL TUK-TUK MODE for RanONG Restaurant 2! Hier kommt die noch verrücktere, längere und mit etwas Thai gewürzte Version:

5/5 Stars – Batty’s Thai Food Wonderland RanONG Restaurant 2 is not a restaurant. It’s a temple of flavor. A playground of Pad Thai. A circus of spice!
From the outside, it looks like… hmm… maybe a storage room for lost beach chairs. But inside? BOOM! Your taste buds get a VIP ticket straight to flavor paradise – first class, baby!
Special shoutout to Bamm – the funniest, happiest, most unstoppable waiter on the island. This guy doesn’t just serve food, he serves full sanuk (สนุก) – pure, juicy, Thai fun! He flies around the tables faster than a hungry gecko and makes jokes so good you almost choke on your Tom Yum. (Don’t worry, Bamm will save you.)
The food? อร่อยมาก (Aroi mak mak!) Every bite is a full-on flavor tsunami. Curries so creamy they could win Oscars. Grilled chicken so tender, it could cry.
RanONG 2 doesn’t need Michelin stars. They have Bamm. And that’s enough. Batty gives 5 wings and a somersault.

Read moreVery good, fresh seafood. Food is served within minutes of ordering. The Thai style cooking is definitely worth a try. Be careful, as with most Thai food, the level of spiciness can be a bit much for some. Do inform the restaurant staff to tone down the chilli if you can't handle it.
Of the many dishes we ordered, I particularly liked the clam in lemon grass soup. It was light and a good start to cleanse the palate before the rest of the dishes. The fish cooked with yam (taro) was also very pleasing, and one of the none spicy dishes. Oysters were definitely a crowd pleaser (if you like oysters), fresh with a squeeze of lemon and some Thai herbs.
We were lucky that day, as we didn't have to wait for a table. Understand the place can get quite busy and patrons generally have to queue...
Read moreI have lived in Samui for 6 years and have had food from here literally hundreds of times (I usually pre-order a takeaway to eat at home unless I have visiting friends or family to take there). It is easily my favourite restaurant in the world. It is usually pretty busy with locals and foreigners alike in the early evening. The restaurant is known for seafood but I have barely tried it; it's all good there. They have English and Chinese speakers (and menus in Thai, English or Chinese) and it is newly expanded and renovated to accommodate the demand for cheap and tasty Thai food. They also have another smaller sister restaurant in the Chaweng Beach area. Can't recommend this family run...
