Sangsom Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

We really love Thai food and that was the best we've ever had. I was actually trying to think of any other time I had any other food I enjoyed more and couldn't come up with anything. The deep fried fish with garlic and pepper was absolutely incredible. Crunchy on the outside and succulent on the inside with very strong flavors. The pad see ew also had deep flavors and the noodles were nothing like I've ever tasted. We also had the red curry with roasted duck. I think I would have liked it better with chicken but the curry itself was delicious. We were back a few hours later for a takeout and we're definitely going back, that's how good it was. The only downside I could find was that it was extremely hot and humid to dine-in. The fans just didn't get the job done. P.s there are no photos because we couldn't help ourselves from stuffing our faces in the plates before getting a chance to take...

If you want something normal for a foreigner ( in terms of taste ), you’ve come to the right place, but if you want authentic real Thai taste and dishes, please go somewhere else.

In my opinion as a local, this is far away from authentic taste. I ordered southern Thai fried rice but what I got is something else. They added in pineapple in that dish too which I never seen it anywhere before.

This is saddest restaurant in Koh Pha Ngan, cooking and managed by Burmese and I don’t think they know how the real taste is. I stayed for a week and try many restaurants here but this one I will give even zero star for it. Absolutely terrible. Sorry for the owner but I think you need to improve your cooking chef level for a bit.

Recommended near by : Try Ann restaurant or 2Sis restaurant. And If you can go Thong Sa La area try this local “Krau Chao Ko” best local southern Thai food...

Try everything and all things as much as you can!

The food is incredibly delicious and low-priced! We tried a lot different dishes and liked all of them! Especially the Pad Thai is one of the best we ate so far in all Thailand (from north to south) - in many places it is too sweet, but here it has the right amount of everything! And the mango sticky rice here is also one of my favorites so far. Everybody makes and sells this dessert, but not everybody can do it nicely.

And the staff is very kind, nice and friendly, and has a good mood. They all are really hard working! And they stay relaxed and funny during all the stress and hectic, especially in the rush hour.
