I had lunch, followed by a cooking class in November (during monsoon season) as a solo female traveler.
The experience was absolutely worthwhile, so much so I wanted to join a second class, but didn't have enough time in my trip. I will be back!
The Nature Samui has a really beautiful farm and grows most of their ingredients onsite. It was interesting to see the vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs in their native habitat and growing conditions. The lotus and taro plots are spectacular, and pretty much everything you see at the market--sweet basil, blue pea, dragonfruit, bananas, morning glory (my favorite!) are grown on the farm.
I arrived for lunch to eat one of the beautiful, delicious offerings. The food is beautifully presented and so fresh. Make sure you take plenty of pictures to inspire your own creations!
The cooking class was phenomenal. I made the green curry, miang kiam (betel leaf wraps) and Kluai Buat Chi (banana in coconut milk dessert). I am by no means a good cook. I struggle with "just add water" mixes and burn garlic toast all the time. I can't believe I made curry with a mortar and pestle that actually tasted good! Khun Ta made everything seem so easy and uncomplicated. The Betel Leaf wraps were so beautiful, I'll definitely be making these for potlucks, and excited to try the recipes in the US.
I also can't wait to be back and learn how to make more dishes! Many thanks for this...
Read moreA lovely spot quite deeply tucked away in serene, beautiful natural surroundings in soi Kao Phra - the vibe here is incredibly relaxed, and the decor really adds to the rustic charm. The cozy restaurant is also connected to the lotus pond - where the team handpicks the lotus flowers and leaves for the menus. Lotus petals seem to be largely used here to incorporate to the dishes - such pleasant and beautiful touch. The food is not only delicious but also beautifully presented yet entirely organic. They offer both a regular and health-conscious menu, so there's something for everyone.
There's also extensive beverage options such as coffees, mixed drinks and coconuts.
The overall experience feels absolutely peaceful and refreshing. Parking available. Prices reasonable for the quality, healthy organic menus. Owner is passionate and staff are very accommodating. Definitely a place worth recommending. There's also cooking classes here, which the place is also known for- this alone is probably...
Read moreThis is our third time here, and we will keep coming back. Near the main road and Fisherman's village, you'll find this hidden gem: peacefully tucked away in the middle of nature and right by a lilly pond! The food is extremely healthy and mouth watering! Aside from the eye catching food presentation, be sure to pay attention to every detail on your plate.
They are known for their Pad Thai, and we can verify that! The banana flower that accompanies the dish is a must have after each bite of your Pad Thai 😉
We also had the best banana cake made with palm sugar and I would have had 10! Other cakes also sound so good so maybe get a few to try! The owner also gave us rose tea and butterfly pea tea to pair with our dessert 😊
Everything about this place is perfect. The staff are very kind and welcoming, the atmosphere just sets you at ease listening to the birds and watching butterflies in your small jungle, with the most deliciously...
