The Riverside Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Worst food we had on our 2 week trip in Thailand. We arrived half an hour before closing and asked the staff if it was still ok to order food. We were told it was fine and were given the menu, the waitress stood beside us staring until we ordered, which took us less than 5 minutes as we were starving after a day travelling. The food was tasteless, terrible and clearly rushed, we were both utterly disappointed in both the awful food and unfriendly service. I know we arrived late but that's why we made a point of asking before we were even seated. There was 10 or so people in the restaurant when we arrived and when we left. Riverside restaurant, nice view, with music and good environment. The foods was nice. The fish we ordered I think is snapper fish with plum sauce, it cost around 380 baht per fish and it is really big fish for both of us 😅 luckily we only ordered fish and crab meat omelette which was so delicious too. Total bill less than 800 baht with 1 fried rice, 1 plain rice, 1 lime juice and 1 watermelon smoothies. You may need to wait a while if order steam fish as it takes around 40mins to serve the fish.

The ambience is superb and I cannot fault the food. However, we were a party of 6 and ordered a total of 9 dishes. The first 6 arrived relatively quickly, and the food was very good However, we then waited nearly 1 hour, by which time the final 3 dishes still had not arrived. When we questioned the staff we were told the preparation of these dishes had not even commenced! Needless to say, we cancelled these items and got the bill. I, for one, will not be returning.
