Umi Shabu — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

I have visited this restaurant for a few times and the same problem happens every time as well.

The food is good, delicious fresh but the process always takes too long to serve and my order was missing. I think, it’s totally fine if the staff let me know if the food that I ordered was unavailable or out of stock but they don’t do they keep me waiting until I asked.

Most of staffs was unfriendly, unwelcoming and they didn’t pay attention to the customer. They was talking quite loud about their story in front of the me as if I were not there.

When I want to order something I need to wait until they walk pass the table. To make matters worse, I need to find them to order.

However, the small guy (waiter) is the only one who pay attention to me and ask if I need some help. I don’t recognize his name, thank you anyway.

Not worth the money...

I've visited this place many times for the buffet with my friends because the food is really good, with plenty of options to choose from. I especially love the beef and sushi. However, the service can be slow at times, and there have been a few occasions when staff got my order wrong, especially when I order a lot. I understand it can get confusing, but sometimes they forget my order, so I have to remind them. The toilet cleanliness could also be improved as it can get a bit stinky. On the plus side, they provide a large parking area, so parking is never an issue. The location is great, and the music adds a nice touch. However, sometimes the air conditioning can be too cold. A restaurant serving Japanese hotpot, sushi, sashimi, noodle soup and rice set etc both in a la carte menu and buffet style.

It is one of our favourites. We come regularly.

Yesterday was however a disappointing experience. The air-conditioning and ventilation system didn't appear functional. Very hot and stuffy inside the restaurant. Saw the temperature marking was 30°c. Kept sweating during the whole dining time.

Food was still good but the service deteriorated much. Many of the ordered sushi items were not served. Those served had wrong items. Quantities ordered for the shabu items got the same issues, either wrong or simply not served. I kept chasing the orders but...
