Friend Seafood — Restaurant in Trat Province

After repeatedly comparing it with other nearby restaurants, this one is undoubtedly the best. They don’t compete on price, but they’ve consistently maintained high-quality dishes over the years. At the same time, it’s not the most expensive place around. Once you’ve been here, you’ll want to come back.

We’ve been coming here regularly for many years, and every time we visit Koh Chang, dining here is an absolute must. This restaurant is actually not located in the center of civilization of this area, but a little before it, next to the 711 store.

This restaurant seems a bit lonely and doesn't appear to be upscale either, but it is easy to be find and the food it serves there is really fresh and good. Based on my many years experience with Thai food in Thailand, the flavors here are really authentic. The best evidence for this is also that many Thai people bring their friends and partners (Thai or foreign) here to dine, even though the prices here are slightly higher than those at the bustling restaurants nearby. I believe that observing whether local people enjoy dining at a particular restaurant is a solid criterion for assessing the authenticity of the restaurant's flavors. In fact after trying some of the other restaurants in the area, I still come back here for dinner every day.

Recommend the Squid on Grill, Fried Snapper, Papaya Salad. The Mango juice is good too. And, the most important - The Tom Yam Gong is the best I've tried here in Thailand with my many years visiting in this country. If you see some ribs the ice on the wooden boat in front of the restaurant, You can confidently take them ( The ribs on grill) - they are so good.

Although the restaurant is at the roadside so there are lot of noise from the road, but the power if delicious food is much greater - it will draw you back here...

Ok so this would be 5/5 just because of the fresh oyster we had as a starter. It was not cheap (100bht each) but... I am not exaggerating when I say this was absolutely the best oyster we ever had (and HUGE). It definately was fresh as it still moved on our plate. After that spectacular deep fried squid and just amazing scallops in lime pepper sauce. On top Scorpions and Stairway to heaven in the speakers. The owner might not be the most cheerful guy, but the rest of the staff is very friendly and the place is definately worth the price. We will come back before the end of our...

Food was average. Squid was chewy, crab was definetely overpriced at 600thb. Can’t remember a place where the staff was this little friendly. Even though we were talking with the lady at the fish counter a Russian speaking guy jumped in and the got served before she continued with us. We should have left...
