Enjoyed a good meal here. Ordered spicy sour soup with shrimp (gaeng som). Very spicy, as it always is, and also very flavorful. A little light on the shrimp though, just six small shrimp in this large bowl. Loaded with bamboo and coconut shoots though, served in a heated bowl. Service was fast, despite being crowded. They saw I was a foreigner and got a different server to help me, one who spoke English. And they brought an English language menu as well. We returned here for our reasonably priced home-cooked dinners for all three evenings of our stay in Phayao. Although the friendly and helpful host can hardly converse in English, she patiently used Google translate to assist us with our choices of Thai dishes cooked by her husband.
