Was in Trinidad for a few days and decided to check this place out with the family. Our server Daniella/Danielle was very pleasant and was neither overbearing nor inattentive. She did her job. However my grouse with this restaurant was the inflexibility of the management, the expense of the dishes for what was served and the total watered down nature of the drinks.
I looked over their extensive menu and decided to get the parmesan chicken option which came with two "speciality sides" (Which by themselves cost $37/ea) and there were only 4 options which were all unappealing. I asked if I could simply have 3 of the "regular" sides ($28/each) and I'd pay the 10 dollar difference (since the meal came with 2 sides included )and (3 ×28) - (2× 37) = 10. The management told the server I can just get 2 regular sixes.. so already I'm like umm ok. We ordered drinks. Everybody had a different drink yet they were all watery. We ordered a second round.. same thing. To the point my sister and husband ordered a shot of tequila to add to their drinks.
Nobody had appetizers, 3 meals were ordered plus 1 kids meal and the bill came to 218 US. I was like ??? For those portions?? I quietly resolved.. first and last time. I had food next day at El Pecos that was cheaper and MUCH more tasty! I travel frequently and dine out all over the place and Woodford Cafe was quite disappointing. Definitely not worth 218 US!

Read moreThe Woodford Cafe Sunday Brunch on Independence Day 2025 offered a delightful start with a great breakfast spread. Seated on the upper floor, the ambiance was slightly affected by the humidity, which was noticeable during the meal. The array of chokas, saltfish buljol, sada roti, scrambled eggs, bacon, and chicken sausages made for a satisfying and flavorful morning meal. The dessert selection was divine, featuring an assortment of cakes that perfectly rounded off the breakfast experience.
However, the transition to the lunch menu was less smooth, with a wait time exceeding 30 minutes that cut into the allotted 2.5-hour seating time, which was a bit disappointing. For lunch, I enjoyed crab, dumplings, and callaloo. While the crab and callaloo were enjoyable, the dumplings could be improved by sautéing them with vegetables and seasonings to enhance their flavor.
The customer service was a highlight, with representatives being attentive and courteous throughout the visit, contributing positively to the overall experience despite the wait during the lunch transition. Overall, the brunch was a good balance of delicious food and pleasant service, though a quicker lunch transition and a less humid seating area would elevate the...

The one star and appreciation goes to the hostess and 1 waitress who served us at first and 1 bartender who showed professionalism and checked on us after witnessing the experience we were having. The staff is "okay",some training would definitely boost the experience at this establishment. Drinks from this bartender ......this one in particular (Dark East Indian girl) ,Afeisha i believe i heard someone called her, oh my!!!!
