Café Havana — Restaurant in Djerba Island

AWFUL HYGIENE LEVEL !! We went there yesterday, I ordered a coffee and a crepe. Tto my shock, the coffee came in a cup stained with fresh lipstick!! I did not even know what to think about this because it was borderline horrible. It means they don't even wash the cups before serving to other customera. I went directly to the manager but I was very polite and took it funnily, which I shouldn't have. They brought me another coffee and guess what! It was the exact same cup but it looked like someone tried to wipe the lipstick with a tissue and left some of it on. I was outrageous and went back again, this time with a much more serious face. I chose my own cup and got the coffee. Later on I got my crepe. Halfway through, I found a thick black hair in the dough!! This was when I could not stand it anymore and went back to the manager who, instead of trying to fix the problem, started shouting at me and calling me a liar. For a good 15 mins, it was both of us screaming which I wanted the other customers to hear, because one more family came to complain as well about the hygiene. When I stressed the importance the hygiene and that I will report them to the ministry of health, he kept asking if I was a nutritionist and why do I care too much about hygiene!!! Not worth 1-star. Awful service and super slow. The carpets were smelling super bad and had rest of food all over it. We went there last Sunday and it was a huge mistake . The waiters were all outside smoking . We ordered tea, we kept talking to them every 15 minutes to ask about the order, they didn’t do the damn effort to serve us properly. they said. What a shame to still have in Djerba such a bad place. They take people for stupids ! It should be closed by the officials. After 35 minutes we decided to leave as we won’t put our feet here...

I recently visited this cafe on my own and as my arabic and french is not fantastic I was nervous. However the waiter was very friendly and helpfull and even topped up my phone with credit because I was struggling to understand how on my own! I ordered a salade Tunisian and it was delicious, there was lots of tuna on it and the portion was large and came with plenty of fresh bread.
