Cafe El Marsa is one of the few places in the locality that is open late, I.e. after 8pm. Google takes you on weird walks as it was harder to get to than the maps suggest but once you're there, you're greeted by friendly staff who are more than happy to help. We ordered various (5!) pizzas (chicken, margarita and tuna) and they were all delicious, especially with a crispy base!! You can tell they were freshly prepared. They use a creamy white sauce base with a generous helping of cheese, rather than the usual tomato base which made a lovely change. The wait for the pizza was made pleasant when we asked for chips and discovered they were freshly handcut and fried. There's something about home made food that just makes everything better :) Cafe El Marsa is located in the marina and the restaurant can be entered through front or back entrance so you'll find it whichever way you walk around the marina. Sitting outside was lovely and we did some stargazing by the water while waiting for food which was surreal. We visited during off-peak season so it was quiet in the whole town but I can tell this would be a hot spot during the popular times. The cafe serves breakfast and other cafe menu items such as paninis, burgers and jacket potato, and they also serve shisha which I will hopefully come back to try before I leave this gorgeous place. Hospitality from our servers was so great, they were very generous and helpful - thank...
Read moreAbsolutely gorgeous cafe both inside and outside, the outside area is breathtaking! You truly get to enjoy the beauty of such an area, and the inside is nice and cosy. Me and my friend were on holiday looking for something local to our hotel and this place was within walking distance to Houda Yasmine Hotel. We did not know what to expect but were surprised by such amazing customer service, the owner was so attentive, sweet and caring towards us. Him and his little son made us feel so welcome and happy, we spent our entire evening there enjoying the shisha, food, dessert and the drinks. Everthing was 10/10!!! I feel extremely happy to have found this place and been a customer here! We had the best experience food wise, locations wise and made a connection for life! We hope to come back one day with our families and enjoy the beautiful cafe again and meet the owner once more, he truly made us feel like family and said we are like his sisters which was very sweet. Oh and the shisha was fantastic, owner had beautiful flavours, always ensured we were okay and shisha was...
Read moreLocation is very nice, and I think this place would be nice if you're treated as a local, however would strongly recommend avoiding if you are a foreigner. Staff seemed friendly initially, but take advantage of tourists. Said multiple times how it was "complimentary" and "free" juices and tea. Then presented a bill (like being pushed out the door before we realised we were even finished ordering) with everything charged. Very hostile when carefully asked about it. Still seems good value compared to what we are used to in UK (as is everything in Tunisia) but don't mis-sell things, it's unnecessary....
