Carthage Beach Bar — Restaurant in Sousse

This is one well-known place in Sousse, it was given to me as a recommendation to visit this place if you want to try some traditional food. Although this is not a traditional restaurant but they sell traditional food and they are good at it.

The staff are very welcoming and the portions are really good, I mean larger than usual but not too crazy.

The food is actually pretty good. One waiter is very attentive. The other one just slapped my drinks down, was grumpy and insisted on talking over me in English when I'd speak in Syrian Arabic to him. It's mostly old men who come here to smoke and drink, I was one of only two women in the whole place. I had to look down all the time to avoid men trying to make eye contact. Squid 10/10. Haven’t had squid so well prepared in a while. Not chewy at all. Finally a place where they know what they are doing. Biggest downside is that i found this place hours before leaving, would have definitely came here to try other dishes as well. They also have beer. Nice, chill informal atmosphere....
