The food was really nice, albeit slightly overpriced. Unfortunately the overall experience was not what I was expecting, especially compared to the last time I went several years ago, when I thought it was great. It feels as though the quality has decreased and therefore I would not recommend this place.
The biggest gripe I have is that the menu could only be viewed through a QR code on the table. This was a problem since we did not have an internet connection and the wifi at the restaurant was unstable. It was also difficult for the older members of our party to use the QR code. When we asked for a normal menu we were told there were none. This feels like a cop-out given the quality of the restaurant - normal menus should absolutely be provided. We were told it was because of Covid restrictions, however it would be quite straightforward to have a menu in a plastic wallet that could be disinfected after use. Moreover, there were no other Covid precautions for either staff or guests as far as we could see.
The staff were friendly and their service was good, although there seemed to be a lack of staff which meant that we were kept waiting and not checked up on. Usually this would be fine, but given how expensive this restaurant is I was...
Read moreWe actually came to this place because of the famous Salt Bae and have no expectation of whatsoever in their food. The restaurant situated in high class area in Ankara and the restaurant itself looked expensive and i was prepared to pay a lot but it was a mistake.
We were expecting salt bae/nusret to be around serving us but in reality, none. There were 3 of us ordering food for 4 serving including kobe beef steak, nusret burger and nusret special for 2. First came the kobe beef, i would say 3/5 nothing special but okay; The second one we had nusret burger 4/5, awesome burger and very tender pinkish meat; Last not the least nusret special with their signature style of cooking, rare tenderloin meat sliced and cooked in hot butter and i should say this is GOOD 5/5!!!
Just after main course we had 3 portions of baklava with ice cream and it was also good!
The cost of us eating that much food was under $200, so reasonable and delicious! I Would definitely returning again anytime...
Read moreI had heard about Nusret quality going down and the meat not being freshly cooked since it got commercialized but I didn't want to believe it considering the prices. I ordered a Tomahawk steak, one of the most expensive options they had and it was so so average. First of all, the meat came in less than 2 minutes. Although usually I am happy to receive my order as soon as possible, I can't imagine how in that time they managed to process the order and cook the steak. When I shared this with my friends they told me that they have heard about Nusret cooking lots of meat beforehand and then just warming it up when they are ordered. Second of all, honestly, I would have tolerated that if the taste was worth it. I had eaten better steaks for $15 at some random pubs. You know the steak is not good when you are wishing there was some cheap sauce just to add...
