MEOS BALIK — Restaurant in Bakırköy

Ok place to eat fish in Istambul. The place is big and it has plenty of tables, when we got there we were the only ones, so not too much atmosphere. I love fish and seafood and wanted a restaurant in Istambul where I could find it. We had shrimp with avocado, which was nice. Mussels and octopus were a letdown. I believe it has more to do with the raw materials than the place. I found those to be insipid (mussels were pale in color and taste, octopus tasteless, very different in flavor from the seafood you find in Spain, or Portugal). I had grilled seabass, and preparation was OK, a bit overdone and dry. What I like the most was out white wine to pair the food. The waiter recommended, good choice. Service was good. Sea view. High ceilings , comfortable lighting. Smoking section room separate from non-smoking section separated by a giant and decorative window. Floor to ceiling windows that open downward to table length for fresh air in both sections. Service is fantastic. Admirable. Attentive to needs . Food service time is quick but slow enough that the fish are cooked. Fish is sold by the weight. Great selection of wine. I was here once for a NYE celebration 🍾 and was perfect. Book reservations early if they will have another one this year. Great live music and great food for NYE. Delicious. Cooked tenderly . Here is a nice place for a romantic, business meeting and Family gathering. All personels are polite and well mannered. We reserved a table for 10 people and we had a great time. Always caring about how we feel and if every thing is fine for us. They never leave your glass out of water. When the main dish is ready, the waiter of the table will serve to every body with a professional manner.
