Alexandra Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Beşiktaş

One shiny star for the supurb view from the terrace and the other for the funky interior (I'm in love with Frida). The rest nothing but disappointing. Drinks are 200TL each (+10% service charge) - fine for cocktails, but vodka tonic which takes 30 seconds to make? When we finished our drinks upstairs and went one floor down to have a little dance, we were told immediately that we have to order more drinks. Really? We politely explained that we had just had drinks and we didn't want to order right away. 2 songs later they came over again and insisted we order again. We didn't feel like investing another kuruş into this overly rude commercial money making place where everything is non-customer oriented, so we happily left.

The place across the road called Any welcomed us with a smile, better music, friendly bartenders and more reasonable drinks menu.

If you value your peace of mind and experience, but not necessarily the Instagram view, hope this review will...

We are foreigners from Spain and Germany who come to enjoy the wonderful people of Turkey and their country , we had already been in this bar with Turkish suppliers... everything went well, but when we went alone, specifically today, they deceived us and treated like thiefs when we told th that on the bill there were cocktails and drinks that don’t belong to us.. they threat us like people who do not want to pay and were treated terribly by the manager and some of the waiters. We paid 9,500 lire (275€) for drinks, of which 3,500 were invented or from people other than us. We have felt threatened badly and defenseless... we are thinking of reporting them to the police because we have been defrauded, forced and basically robbed. Horrible never ever go there, even more so if you are foreigners, and as Spanish or Germans are threated...

The most racist and elitist place is Istanbul. Denied us entry with 4 girls and 1 guy without any reason. They then proceeded to allow over 15 people in who looked not a day older than 16. The doorman who was bald with a beard was nothing short of rude and racist, his aggressive tone and lack of respect was astounding. Having travelled the world and visited the best bars, I have never encountered a place with a worse service standard and door policy. It's bars like this that ruin the hospitality industry and I sincerely wish they close down and spare people from having to interact with such disgusting human beings. Only visit Alexandra if you want to experience abuse...
