⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable dining experience in Göcek

From the moment we walked into Can Restoran, we knew we were in for something special. Everything — and I truly mean everything — was absolutely brilliant. This place captures the very essence of Göcek: warm, welcoming, delicious, and full of heart.

First of all, the service was outstanding. The staff made us feel genuinely cared for, without ever being overbearing. Every request was met with a smile, and it was clear they were not just doing a job, but taking pride in creating a great experience. There’s a sense of professionalism blended beautifully with Turkish hospitality — a rare combination that makes a real difference.

The food, tust wow. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, prepared with care, and presented beautifully. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the love behind the cooking. Whether it was seafood, mezes, or grilled items, everything was perfectly balanced — rich, but not overwhelming. The portions were generous, but more importantly, they left us wanting to come back and try the rest of the menu.

A very special mention has to go to Enis, the owner. What a gem of a person. Enis doesn’t just run a restaurant — he creates an atmosphere. He personally checked in on us, shared his recommendations, and even gave us some insights into the history and inspiration behind the dishes. His passion for what he does is truly inspiring, and it sets the tone for the entire experience. You can tell that his heart is in every detail.

What stood out the most was the overall ambiance. The setting is elegant yet relaxed, with a vibe that makes you want to stay for hours — and we did! It’s the kind of place where locals and visitors alike feel at home.

Can Restoran is not just a meal, it’s a memory. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why we travel, why we gather around a table, and why food is such a universal language of joy and connection.

Food OK but definitely you are not welcome unless you're local.

The town is clearly a local town, not many tourist, and the dynamics and interaction are clearly different if you are a foreigner.

We asked for 2 sea bass (45TL each), we were suggested to upgrade to a bigger one to share for 60TL each on the basis that it was freshly fished rather than from farm factory, with chips included on the house.

The bill showed 140TL for the fish (not 120TL, or 90TL as originally intended). The chips were no where to be seen.

Practically ignored, while all tables around us were greeted (including one who had a pizza delivery on the table!).

Whispered if we wanted a complimentary tea or coffee, we kindly said no, and just then, almost reluctantly, we were offered the plate of fruit on the house that every single table had been offered before us.

Finally asked for the bill in an pretty empty restaurant, twice!

Being our second night in town, and having ordered exactly the same in a different restaurant the night before, by comparison: the fish was equally good (despite the "upgrade "), presentation was poorer, service was much worse, and the feeling of welcomed not existed (it did the day before somewhere else).

In conclusion: avoid unless...

Of all the places we’ve eaten at during our stay in Gocek, Can Restaurant is by far the best and our favourite. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was sensational. We chose a selection of cold mezes to start, opting for things we had never tried before that were special to the region and we couldn’t have been happier. We also ordered grilled octopus and grilled prawns, followed by grilled red snapper and a green salad to accompany it all. Everything was fresh, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. The octopus and prawns stole the show for us though. They were both perfectly grilled and so flavoursome. The octopus was cooked so well, it was melt in your mouth good and not at all chewy. The tiled table tops and lantern lit, pebbled sea shore setting with beautiful marina views creates a great atmosphere for guests while dining. Highly recommend Can Restaurant for anyone...
