We stopped at Ege Safasi for dinner before heading to the dancing fountains, choosing it based on the good reviews. The kids shared two pizzas (both happily eaten), I went for a spicy kebab which was really tasty, and my wife had the chicken shish. She wasn’t too keen on the chicken, so ended up swapping with our eldest, who had no complaints at all. Prices were in line with other local restaurants, so no surprises there.
We had mentioned to our waiter that we were on a strict time schedule, but he insisted we try a local dessert. While we appreciated the gesture, it wasn’t really to our taste – a sponge cake soaked in a fairly bland liquid – and it did eat into our time a little.
As we left, the place was getting much busier, so unlike most Turkish restaurants where the owner gives you a warm goodbye, we slipped out unnoticed. Not a deal breaker, but worth mentioning.
