I am staying at Metropol Hotel and decided to give their restaurant a try. It’s advertised as fine dining. I ordered beef carpaccio and salmon dishes, glass of sparkling and a glass of white wine, with bottle of still water. Tap water was not an option. I arrived without reservation at 6:30pm and was greeted by a woman who appeared professional, friendly and well mannered. The views are spectacular from here and both indoor and outdoor seating is available. I was not asked about my preference and was shown to a table. I was promptly offered a drink and a food menu but was not asked for a drink until 10 minutes after. I was ready to order way before as I had a very limited time. While this place is very laid back and I love that, staff awareness was lacking. Barman was preparing drinks without keeping an eye on the floor, waiter was busy around and he did not pay attention to me until he was ready. The host came to charge her mobile and chat with a bartender several times and I was forced to listen about her life story as restaurant was very quiet although nice music was playing in the background. My waiter only spoke English which was opposite from my experience at hotel reception. At hotel reception I was asked to speak Serbian as they did not understand English. English is my preferred language however I wonder what would have happened if I did not know English. While white table cloths and prices may fool you this was not silver service nor fine dining restaurant as advertised. My wine glasses and cutlery as well as clearing of the table lacked basic knowledge of hospitality service and protocol. The most disappointing part of my evening was value for money and food. The bill came to over 7000drs. Carpaccio was small serve for the price and lacked flavour and presentation. Adding house-made grissini, truffle oil, lemon, and rocket leaves instead of butter lettuce would have been a better match. Instead balsamic glaze was added and bunch of leaves with Parmesan crumbs. Salmon was thin, overcooked as well as asparagus which you could not cut well as stem was not snapped at the right place and was tough in spite being over cooked. Both creamy quinoa and beetroot purée lacked seasoning and flavour and I am not sure where honey mustard pudding went. Very disappointing dish. Sadly very disappointing experience. Sorry guys.

I loved the view - its 360 and you can see both Saint Sava cathedral and Saint Mark cathedral and almost all the Belgrade city and a little bit of Danube river far away You can also watch the sunset ) The interior is simple, a little bit minimalistic We were at the special wine event so we had an opportunity to taste a lot of starters and dishes prepared by the chef and lots of desserts I absolutely loved royal shrimps with a special sauce, Asian style tuna pieces, and chocolate dessert The service was on top Staff is friendly and helpful I’m definitely going to visit this restaurant again

I love this place !! We stayed at the bar and the barmen was so professional- he asked us what we would like to drink and what do we prefer to be the base of the cocktail . Since we had rakija before and told him that he offered us this cocktail that was signature and didn’t have any particular name but the taste was so good ! The atmosphere was nice and quiet, good music and excellent service. We didn’t have any food but the food on the other tables looked really good.

Nice view, friendly waiter, and solid food. However, considering the prices, the quality of the food could be a little better. Instead, after an excellent potage of mushrooms and veal soup, an average, albeit nicely decorated, main course followed...

Very good time with friends in this restaurant. Impeccable service, good advice on the menu. A varied and quality choice of local and international foods. All in a pleasant place with a splendid 360 view of Belgrade. I can only recommend!

The only thing good about this place is the view, that’s why it is not a 1 star. The food is super expensive and average at best. The portions are tiny and, in some situations (like burek), even served cold.
