Save Our Souls cafe — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

My recent experience at this cafe was incredibly disappointing, to say the least. I used to love coming here for to work and enjoy delicious breakfast, but I've noticed a significant decline in both quality and transparency.

One of my go-to menu items, the scrambled egg truffle croissant, used to be a delightful treat. However, during my last visit, I was taken aback by an unexpected additional charge that the staff opted for me a butter croissant, instead of a normal? croissant that is supposedly part of the meal, a detail conveniently omitted from the menu. This lack of transparency regarding pricing is deceptive and leaves a sour taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally.

Furthermore, the quality of the food has noticeably deteriorated. The scrambled egg truffle croissant, which used to be a highlight of my morning, now lacks the flavorful and satisfying experience I once enjoyed. It's evident that corners are being cut, and the standard of excellence this cafe once prided itself on has been compromised.

Overall, I am deeply disappointed and have no plans to return. It's disheartening to see a once beloved spot fall from grace due to hidden fees and declining standards. I urge the management to address these issues promptly if they wish to retain their customer base...

The service I received wasn’t great. I asked the waitress whether they do Spanish latte before scanning the bar code for menu and she went ahead and put an order in at the bar without any further conversation. I wanted to check other beverages on the menu first and usually have low fat milk with any milk based drinks. Fair enough, I accepted the drink and didn’t want to cause an issue.

Secondly, I tried to get a waiters attention, who acknowledged me but walked away. I thought he had to attend to another customer first. I waited a few minutes for him to return but he didn’t.

Finally, I asked for a wifi password which another waiter said he would bring to me. But forgot to do so, until I asked him again 5 minutes later. It was 10 am and the cafe wasn’t busy at all. Plus the waiters and waitresses were hanging around the bar (near to where I was sat) when not attending...

A nice place with nice seating, when it’s good weather the doors are open and you get the water view.

-food: 7/10 My scrambled egg toast was sort of bland. But the white bread was alright and the egg was cooked just right. Wish the truffle was more, it looked little, like 2 chopped finely. The french toast i heard was good. The cappuccino is as nice and they have a variety of milk types. I didnt share my concern, I’m sure they would’ve done something but I let it go.

-service: 10/10 Very friendly staff and accommodating.

-Ambiance: 8/10 There wasn’t any music playing but there’s a fountain opposite to the seating area.

-Parking: 10/10 Easy to find parking and a short walk to the cafe.

-Price: 7/10 I find the price to be fair because the service and seating comfort compensate for the quantity of food, being the meal was 45 AED
