Read moreDisappointed by the service decline in recent times. I’ve been a frequent customer of Wokyo since the food is great. However, if the service of the staff lacks, the meals becomes that much worse! While they are kind in their demeanor, the staff has become increasingly stingy and inflexible. Prime examples being: my family and I sat down and the server refused to give us the samples of rice tea after having just ordered! The reason being, we had given one of us (we were a group of 5) the tea already and wasn’t going to serve the other 4 guests. Upon prompting our server, he reluctantly gave us an additional tea sample. We had to refuse, if the service was not done with the intention of giving us a good experience then why do the action at all?
Further, as we were making our order we had informed the waiter that our party was allergic to bean sprouts and would have to have them removed. This is no extraordinary request, it has been fulfilled by them many times in the past since I’ve come here frequently. However, the sever stated that only NOW it is impossible to fulfill the request to remove bean sprouts. This is not a matter of taste, it is a matter safety and health. I am dissatisfied with the service and I hope that the food maintains its quality and taste so that I may still frequent Wokyo.
To the Wokyo staff reading this review: please take this seriously, satisfied customers are the backbone of the gastronomy industry. I would really reconsider what exactly the values of this establishment are if your servers are being stingy with tea samples. It represents a much larger...
Read moreFor years we have been going to Wokyo whenever we feel like eating noodles. Their noodles and ramen are one of our favourites in the city. Today however, we were extremely disappointed in the service we received at the Al Safa location.
We came in around 10pm and were told the wait to be seated outdoors was 30-45min and indoors was 45-60min. We were very surprised that the wait was this long at 10pm considering they supposedly close at 11:30pm. Nevertheless we decided to put our name on the list and wait to be seated indoors as it was very windy and chilly outdoors.
Our table was available within 50 minutes and we ordered our food only to have to wait another 35 minutes to get our food. By this point we were extremely frustrated and annoyed having to wait almost an hour and a half to be seated AND receive our food so late at night. Extremely ridiculous! Yes the food was just as good as always which is the only reason we waited so long to be seated. But to wait 35 minutes after being seated to receive our food is unacceptable. Every time we’ve been to Wokyo we’ve never waited this long. Our food always comes out within 15-20 minutes. I think this is the last time we are going to visit the Al Safa branch.
If you want noodles, I would still recommend visiting Wokyo however I would suggest maybe visiting a different branch that has more seating available. If you decide to visit the Al Safa branch, be prepared to wait a LONG time before...
