I love the place. It opened just days ago. It still suffers some teaching issues, still, I am impressed. Bright open nice atmosphere, creative menus, delicious food and friendly & attentive service from most of the staff, some still needs training. W were lucky to meet the young lady proprietor who welcomed us wormley and attended personally to our needs. We hated the music, it wasn't traditional or modern and was meaningless. The cafe is dedicated solely to serving breakfast Saudi & Yemeni dishes and as such, it is a novelty. It is a fantastic place. I like it and have been to it twice in the same day. Their food items are very delicious in general. But the best dish I had there so far was Mutabbaq (مطبق). Try it some time and let me know. I assume everyone in Dubai, native or expats, know Foul (فول). But Tamees (تميس) is less known at lease to the expats. Tamees came initoally to Arabia & the gulf with Uzbek migrant (البخارية) to the the holy cities in Saudi Arabia and the region around them. Uzbek bakers baked Tamees in deep tandoor ovens and they used difficult body maneuvers to reach the far depth of tandoor. And by the 1970s, Tamees was adopted fully 100% by the Yemeni community in Saudi Arabia. Yemenis also adopted making it in the same kind of ovens and with the same acrobatic technique. Considering the Yemeni traditional clothes, it was more than amazing to watch their baking acrobatics while dressed in their typical dress. Today, Tamees became THE main bread for breakfast every day in every Saudi Arabian house. Unfortunately, it is baked in modern pizza style ovens. The Tamees bread in this cafe is good, but I am used to a higher standard in Saudi. The trick of a perfect Tamees is to be crispy on the outside while soft in the inside (just like you do good French Fries). The Tamees in this cafe in tends to be more on the crispy side. To be fare, the place has been open for few days. I am sure they are on their way to the top. I really...

I was hesitant to share this in public. But the lack of professionalism with the staff made me do it.
We found a hair in the food, which made us all nauseous and want to leave immediately.
We received no apology from anyone, and I paid for everything but that order with hair.
I went to the waiter asking for anyone in charge, but he said the manager is on leave and there is no one you can call or contact.
That actually is very frustrating.
I asked him why no one apologized? He replied we didn’t charge for that dish with hair what else you need!?
Hmmm really?
Anyhow:

Read moreI will not complain about the crazy over prices as it’s linked to the location, decor and all related issues to ambiance. My major concern is the food, having lived in KSA for quite long time, I can appreciate a decent plate of Foul, lentils and tamees. Qulaba foul and lentils were blunt, and tasteless with no spices and that kick you usually expect. Cheese tamees was not even close to the tamees you buy in KSA, the dough was very soft. It’s just an Indian or Pakistani bread you find all over the bakeries in Dubai. Tamees bread as I know come in different forms (regular, biscuit, ghee) all are a bit harder than what was served. I really wanted to like the experience, for these prices, I was expecting a total different encounter. Please improve...
