If you’re in Dubai and craving a culinary journey through Asia, Fifth Flavor is a MUST and the place to be. This exceptional restaurant masterfully combines flavors from across the continent, offering a unique and unforgettable dining experience.
The moment you step into Fifth Flavor, you’re greeted by an ambiance that perfectly balances modern elegance with traditional Asian touches. Their mini Asian market was a delightful surprise (lots of nice merch there especially their T-shirts and snacks) in addition to the secret door to the restaurant (a clever idea). It’s an ideal place for a romantic dinner, or night out with friends.
The service at Fifth Flavor was amaaaazing. The staff are professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. One thing caught my attention from the start, which was their use of really beautifully curated crockery.
For me, the menu at Fifth Flavor was the highlight; unexpectedly delicious especially for someone who don’t crave Asian cuisines that much. A delightful array of Asian flavors, featuring creative dishes that blend ingredients and techniques from various cuisines. My recommendation is to try everything especially if you are going with friends but “a Must have dishes” are: -Nori Potato sticks, -crispy smokey eggplant, -grilled edamame, -A5 skewers (have the 3 skewers options and eat it while it hot), -beef tataki (served with pink center. I asked them to cook it medium and it was delicious and melts in your mouth), -beef braised bao.
Dessert at Fifth Flavor is not to be missed either. Just order the entire menu. Hold on. I’m not kidding; If you would sample a few desserts, I recommend miso banoffee pie, chocolate mousse and pavlova. Then order wakamomo to go. It’s that simple 😊 I can’t recommend their dessert enough. Out of this world especially the miso banoffee pie.
Finally, the restaurant also offers an impressive selection of beverages. For me, I really enjoyed the hibiscus flower with sumac.
Overall, Fifth Flavor exceeded all my expectations. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is both elegant and inviting. Whether you’re a fan of Asian cuisine or simply looking for an extraordinary dining experience in Dubai, Fifth Flavor is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreFifth Flavor is a playful restaurant that offers a creatively curated menu featuring innovative dishes that bring Japanese and fusion cuisine to life. Here’s my take on some of the standout items from my visit:
The meal began with the “Truffles Mushroom” Pallet Opener (7.5/10), a clear soup that was light and soothing, setting the tone for the evening.
The “A5 Skewer” (8/10) a good dish showcased Saroma A5 Wagyu beef, perfectly seared with lime and Maldon salt, delivering soft and juicy bites.
The “Salmon Carpaccio” (7/10), was an average dish, paired with ponzu, citrus, and roasted hazelnuts, fell slightly short in flavor.
The “ET” Gambero Rosso Tempura (8.5/10) an excellent dish, was a clear winner, with its crispy prawn tempura perfectly balanced by teriyaki, spicy mayo, and togarashi sauces.
The “ST” Salmon Tiradito (8/10) a good dish, offered a good balance of yuzu kosho and pickled cabbage, though it would be ranked higher if it had a touch more flavor.
Moving to bao offerings, the “Braised Beef Bao” (8/10) was a very good dish, featured tender pulled beef and crispy kale but was slightly overwhelmed by excessive mayo.
The “Truffle Smash Beef Bao’ger” (8/10), was a very good dish as well, with its double wagyu patties and truffle mushroom filling, was flavorful yet a bit too messy for the bao’s size.
For dessert, the “Black Garlic Ice Cream” with chocolate mousse and hazelnut praline (8.5/10) another excellent dish, wrapped up the meal beautifully with its unique and satisfying taste.
Fifth Flavor’s dishes present a delightful mix of creativity and quality, with a few tweaks needed to elevate some flavors from being very good to excellent. The ambiance complements the dining experience, making it a spot worth revisiting. My waiter was Randy and his service was...
Read moreThis place has been on my list for while and I was really looking forward to try it out. I’m not usually the one to write very long reviews, however, the experience wasn’t exactly great, and it was probably the first time I felt so unwelcomed in the restaurant.
The food and drinks was absolutely delicious. The interior is thought through and has an authenticity to it. So for all this is definitely A+++!
When it comes to the customer service, something went wrong here…
I was catching up with a friend over an early dinner here and we actually were the only ones at the place at around 5.30pm. We ordered water and kept talking not rushing into ordering everything else. After 10min (if not less) the waitress came to us to basically warn that we need to hurry up with the order as they may need to ask us to leave when it will become busy! (The restaurant is still empty!) We did order, and in the middle of the dinner when she came to clear the plates, we said we still not done. You would expect that you will be left alone to continue your dinner and conversation, but no, she stood there watching how I’m going to take the last bit if carpaccio….
That was not the end… We ordered the desert, and literally in the middle of having it, she came over to us saying we have 10min left to finish… I’m absolutely stunned in a non positive way by all this.
Billion compliments to the chef for amazing food, but after all this experience, it is definitely a question mark to be back for it.
I totally get the concept of a table for a limited time etc, but there is a way to address it in a more...
