Codnor Castle Inn / Pantheon — Restaurant in Amber Valley

I held my 50th birthday party here on Saturday 5th Aug, I had a fantastic evening, the room looked faboulous and was decorated with white and gold tablecloths, there was plenty of tables and seating and the buffet was amazing, absolutely delicious, everyone at my party said it was the best they'd ever been too and how lovley the venue was and the food. Visited here with family after reading great reviews, unfortunately we were a little disappointed. On arrival, the restaurant was cold and poorly lit, with numerous bulbs appearing to not work. The service was average, as was the food. There was enough choice but the vegetarian option was dry and unappetising and the roast potatoes were soggy. The rest was OK I guess, but I wouldn't say I enjoyed it. I dont think id go again when we have many more choices...

Best carvery I've had for a number of years. Very nice venue and staff were great, very attentive and kept the drink flowing and the food came out quick. Had to tick what we wanted from a list but the servings were plentiful. I'll be back again soon over the coming weeks. Great...
