Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Amber Valley

So for years the costa has had a super poor wifi. Every costa I have been in the country which is a lot has O2 wifi which allows you to stay connected for as long as you like. Here they only have 30 min, and it is not accessible across the entire cafe. Apparently you can ask for a code, but that is far to burdensome and is very different to other costa's. Furthermore, if you think bringing a dongle is a good workaround, you be in for a sad reality, the reception in this area seems to be in a blind spot and is very very poor on O2 and EE, not sure about others. They need to upgrade the wifi. The other downside is they close the very back before 3 every time I have been there. This is a significant section with additional tables and charge points and should not be closed 3 hours before closing time. I feel like they are becoming a bit like subway with their customer service approach, Deliveroo takes priority over people in the queue and that seems a good way to put off...

Sugar free syrup is far too sweet and chemical tasting. Sadly Costa are getting rid of the sugar syrups altogether. The requested and advertised "bonfire" flavoured drinks were out of stock and would not be coming back in despite it being nowhere near bonfire night. My wife asked for toast which the customer before us had and we were told that they stopped serving toast at 11:00am. It was 11:40 when we asked for it. On leaving after 12:00pm we noticed another chap leaving the counter with freshly made toast. Not sure why we weren't allowed toast and...

The till service here was slow and I was ignored with no greeting while the cutomer in front of me was dealing with an order choice that was out of stock. No apology when arriving next in line at the till either.

There seemed to be 4 or so staff on but only one working the till. Which at the time was the busiest area.

The cake I ordered was really nice and the coffee was great. Service from the barista was very friendly and efficient.

Plenty of places to sit, the seating area, tables and wc all seemed well...
