King Alfred — Restaurant in Amber Valley

The last time I went was with a group of friends. We had a meal at the local Chinese and decided to pop in for a drink. The pub was fairly quiet, the music was on loud which is to be expected especially on a weekend. The bar staff were all talking amongst themselves which was fine at first until we felt we were being ignored, when we finally got served the barlady was rude and didn't even take my drink order right and 3 out of 5 friends drinks were wrong. I accepted it because the music was loud and maybe they hadn't heard and I should of complained at the time but I was feeling annoyed with her rudeness and just wanted to enjoy my time with my friends. The staff started messing around behind the bar which again is fine, everyone should have fun but they were putting ice down each others tops and trousers, they were very "touchy feely" which didn't feel very professional. A fight broke out which isn't unusual in this pub and the security did their job even though they were originally sat at the bar with a pint. I haven't had a good experience in this pub for many years and that is why I have given...

Dirty glasses with mouth marks....cheesy garlic bread undercooked and so much cheese that the grease from the cheese soaked straight through, white powedery underneath...so i defo cancelled of the mains if you cant cook garlic bread right how can you cook a mains. No apology neither, infact i had to ask for a refund but the manager was saying it depends weather or not the 'chef' has put the mains in the oven or not 🙈....and as foe pouring a drink from a dirty glass into a new glass (that was still dirty) is so unhygienic. Need to up the standards and...

wouldn't give any stars if it was possible. prebooked Christmas dinner, starter was lovely, main course sent back no taste to it as it had clearly been over cooked the sprouts were cream not green and you couldn't pick the carrots up they were that soggy! 15 mins after main course had been sent back our side orders arrived! may be a nice place for a drink but avoid the food!!! when asking staff questions consistantly told i dont know and rather than find out they never returned, oh and service with a smile wouldn't go a miss after all it...
