Only been here once before for a "dot art" activity which was held in the outbuilding in the pub garden. This second time I brought my dad to have lunch as Tuesdays are smaller portions for £8 a portion. Lunch runs from 12-2.30pm, I booked in case it was busy. I had fish & chips & dad had egg & bacon roll with chips. We didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive, it was piping hot & tasty. We finished with apple crumble & cream & a kind of Eton mess, which was extra to the £8 lunch. There were a few other tables eating & a few people just in for a pint & read of the newspaper. Outside there's benches & a grassed fenced area for people who bring well behaved dogs on leads. There's a small car park & on street parking if needs be. The owner & chef popped out of the kitchen for a chat & the chap at the bar who also served food couldn't do enough for us. It was a pleasant visit to what is quintessentially "an old fashioned pub" like I remember (now I'm showing my age 😬). I understand they do a roast on a Sunday & I spotted home made cake to either eat in or takeaway. Will visit again with my son as he likes smaller,...

MY friend & I regularly into the Friary Arms for Sunday lunch & it was lovely, Sunday last we went into the pub for Sun lunch, & ordered 2 Roast Beefs, well the beef was very chewy, not like normal, we did not say anything, was about 2 put Beef into a doggie bag, & the chef walked passed, think he was co owner, he said in a very rude tone of voice "what'a matter with the beef then, my friend & I looked at each other, and said to him, the beef was quite tough, which it was, he then said well funny nobody else complained about it, scoured at us & walked off, very un friendly, that is No way to speak 2 customers that use the pub many tims, we never complained at all, it was the owner, that walked passed, & said what's wrong with the Beef, it was my friends birthday, & was disappointed that it did not turn out , what it normally like, No Sorry, or anything, you do not speak 2 regular customers like that, especially as we did not complain about the Beef, I paided for my friend meal, & all together, it was £70, do not from part owner, b spoken to like that, quite...

This is a nice country style pub. Lovely staff working there and do a pretty good roast dinner.

If you're planning on going there for a Sunday lunch I would definitely recommend booking a table because they've got a few people in there.

The new issue we had is one of our party asked for the pork roast Dinner explicitly because it mentioned on the menu about their amazing crackling. Unfortunately when the meals came out there was no crackling there was no mention of it and we asked and they said they didn't actually have any.

All in all the lovely experience nice atmosphere nice place as I say it's like an old country pub I will recommend this to people should they want to eat out in Bognor.

Thanks guys for your...

Fantastic. Proper little boozer with fabulous chef, kitchen and team who work hard to look after you. 5STAR Reviews urged us to go for a Sunday lunch treat. Roasts, specials and yummy puddings. Brilliant communication. Greeted on arrival, friendly team and traditional pub atmosphere, really recommend and plan to return soon. UPDATE: April 24 we returned and were treated so well. Love this good old proper pub for a Sunday lunch. Quality meals and a nice cold beer every time.

Had a lovely lamb roast dinner here and partner had chips, battered cod chunks and peas. The portion sizes very generous and the food was nice and hot. Desserts too, which we don't normally get but couldnt resist. Very pleased with both of our meals and the service was amazing, the staff were so chatty and friendly. Definitely recommend and would visit again if in this area. Thanks sooo much.
