Hotham Park Cafe — Restaurant in Arun

I had the big breakfast at Hotham Park Cafe. The girls serving were very good, professional and friendly and the general ambience was relaxed. The breakfast was average and for the price of £10.95 I expect better. The bacon was annihilated and the beans barely had any taste, perhaps they were cheap beans? I didn't rate the sausages either. Although they were nicely cooked I just didn't enjoy the flavour. Halfway through my meal one of the chefs came out of the kitchen and looked like he had been dragged through a hedge backwards, dishevelled - not what I wanted to see from anyone in food prep. The other chef was well presented when I walked past the kitchen.

It's a lovely venue in a beautiful park but needs to make things better from my experience on an average morning with a handful of people to make food for.

I just had to put an edit in here because I checked the menu and I should have got a hash brown as well which I didn't. I did think at the time but though I must has kissrrad the menu. I've knocked another star...

Had seen plenty of good reviews of the cafe in the park - decided it was our lunch venue with the family on a reasonably nice day. Inside was packed but thankfully got a space outside. Again, queue was pretty long, but actually got served fairly quickly, and food turned up not too long after that. Everyone liked the food they had - and it was far better than I probably would have expected. The only downside to our visit, and this is no fault of the cafe, was the people who seemed to be unable to control their dogs when not on a lead - at one point we had a small dog under our table, which initiated a bit of a shriek from our daughter (always fearful since a dog stole her sausage roll a couple if...

We were at Hotham park today and we have decided to stop at the cafe to have an icecream. The 2 ladies at the counter were very rude and they were laughing at me even when I left. Well, my first language is not English but I speak a very understandable English so not sure what they found very funny but obviously they only speak English and not even making effort to learn other languages. So if you foreign and fancy an icecream there make sure you speak slowly to these people to make sure they understand you properly. 😅 Sorry for the bad review but I think this kind of behaviour not the best in any business especially not in hospitality.
